- Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure - Scrubs, gowns, & gloves appropriately. The Electrophysiology (EP) Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA-C) works collaboratively with the EP physicians, residents, fellows, as well as support staff in the hospital and EP procedural space under the clinical supervision of the Chief of Electrophysiology.   Clinical: 100% of your time will be spent providing clinical support in the Electrophysiology inpatient service. Duties include the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with arrhythmias and heart rhythm related disorders, including atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, and patients with cardiac rhythm devices. Support for outpatient services may be added depending on clinical need.   Specific duties include, but are not limited to: - Evaluation and management of patients with heart rhythm disorders - Management of patients pre, peri and post EP procedures - First assist in EP procedures - Assisting in generation of order sets and other tools to facilitate EP best practices - Management of patients with pacemakers and ICDs, including interrogation and programming - Management and monitoring of patients with pacemakers and ICDs undergoing clinically indicated MRI scans - Performing cardioversions and drug challenges independently - Providing sub-specialty feedback and clinical direction to residents, fellows, and inpatient staff to improve clinical and technical knowledge and serve as a mentor to students and junior staff members - Communicating effectively with a wide variety of team members (faculty/physicians, APPs, RN, MA, researchers), members of KCVI and other care providers and coordinators to provide excellent team-based care Education: OHSU is a teaching institution and as a faculty member, you are expected to provide mentorship and direction to students, residents, fellows and staff. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is expected to support and complement physician care of Infectious Diseases patients in a variety of settings, including the outpatient and inpatient realms. The position includes outpatient clinic at OHSU sites and inpatient clinical service at OHSU hospital.  The outpatient and inpatient responsibilities are under the direct or indirect supervision as warranted with the opportunity for further independent practice based on performance.   - Clinical. The primary duties include direct inpatient and outpatient consultative patient care, and Video-based consultation coverage for OHSU’s Hospital at Home program. Inpatient and outpatient clinical activities will be scheduled so as not to overlap on the same day - Education. This position participates in the division’s teaching activities, including divisional conferences, student and fellow didactics and on OHSU committees as expected and approved by the Division and Department. - Administration. Administrative and other duties may be assigned based on department needs and your areas of expertise and interest, including opportunities to participate in departmental management and to serve on institutional committees.

Clinical Responsibilities:  As a full-time clinician, effort will be devoted to clinical activities and include a combination of ambulatory clinic sessions and EMG clinics in the OHSU Center for Health & Healing. At 1.0FTE, this will equate to 8 sessions per week. This position may serve as part of neurology attending in the OHSU Hospital inpatient ward and may also participate in the evening/weekend call coverage pool.  The specific dates of rotations will be determined by mutual agreement between this position and the Chair of the Department.   Research Responsibilities:  Encouraged to develop and maintain a funded research program as part of the Neuromuscular & ALS Center.   Academic responsibilities:  Teach medical students, residents and fellows as deemed appropriate by the Chair of the Department of Neurology.   Participate in Departmental activities consistent with your position and with the understanding that your position requires a focus and dedication of time to the OHSU Neuromuscular Center.  Other activities may include, but are not limited to, membership on Departmental and SOM committees.

Clinical: - Responsible for working as a generalist in the areas of Diabetes. You will be expected to perform a total of 2-3 ambulatory clinic sessions per week; You will also be expected to attend on the inpatient endocrine consult service 2-4 weeks per year and take your fair share of night and weekend call, as assigned, with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays through the shared coverage of OHSU’s consult line. Research: - The position will have protected time to assume current research grant projects, continue research that  have been transferred and secure grant funding. Education: - OHSU is a teaching facility and you will be expected to teach medical students and residents in the clinical setting, as part of your Clinical duties above, as well as through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year. You may receive teaching assignments from the Division Head, Department or School of Medicine.

The PMC physician performs preoperative risk assessment on pre- surgical patients by obtaining an H&P and ordering appropriate diagnostic studies and laboratory tests. They will collaborate with other members of the team regarding pre-op instructions, medication management, and patient education.   The physician is expected to function independently but also work in close collaboration with providers from other departments (cardiology, anesthesiology, internal medicine, etc.) to coordinate medical optimization of the patient prior to surgery. This includes but is not limited to following up on lab tests, cardiac testing, referrals to other specialties and documenting plan of care in EMR. Physicians also communicates with the surgical team (surgeons, surgery schedulers) when necessary to share concerns about patient readiness for scheduled surgeries. Timely, focused documentation with the referring surgeon, PCP and anesthesiologist when appropriate to ensure quality patient care.    The faculty member will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship as directed by his/her department.

As a faculty member of the Division of Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases, in the Department of Medicine  at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) you will report to the Division Head, Clinical Director, and Division Manager; and will be expected to contribute in each of the following areas:   Clinical Care: - Direct patient care in Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases outpatient clinics (may include a combination of digital and face-to-face clinics at Marquam Hill-Physicians Pavilion, Beaverton Clinic, Orenco Station (Hillsboro, OR) and/or other OHSU outpatient locations) with a minimum of six (6) clinics per week. - Adult rheumatology inpatient consult service for 2-3 months per year. Includes OHSU-only consult weeks (Monday-Fridays) and combined OHSU and VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS) weekend coverage.   - Potential assignment of eConsults and other direct and indirect patient care divisional needs assigned by the clinical director, should the need arise.  Administrative and other duties: - May be assigned based on divisional needs and your areas of expertise and interest, including opportunities to participate in and to serve on institutional committees. Teaching: - This position participates in the division’s teaching activities, including divisional conferences, student and fellow didactics and on OHSU committees as expected and approved by the Division and Department, including undergraduate medical education programs and School of Medicine graduate programs. The Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit treats critically ill patients with neurological injuries. Care in the NSICU follows evidence-based guidelines and clinical pathways developed by the multidisciplinary team. The APP faculty is expected to work a fair share of weekday, night and weekend shifts. If desired, the APP faculty may choose a night shift-only assignment after an appropriate orientation period. Clinical Responsibilities: - Assessment and treatment of patients in the NSICU under the direction of critical care trained physician faculty, including performance of basic ICU procedures including arterial and central line placement and lumbar puncture. - Rounding on patients in the NSICU with physician faculty, fellows and residents and developing and implementing clinical plans of care. - Consultation with specialty care providers when appropriate. - Communication with patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and progress. - Working with hospital and unit staff to develop and implement discharge plans for patients in the ICU, and promote patient health through education and counseling. - Timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. - Collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary and interprofessional care team to ensure optimal patient care and continuously improve quality of care. - Adherence to best practice protocols and policies - Delivery of care compliant with the regulations and guidelines by the relevant regulatory bodies. - Treating all patients and co-workers with dignity and respect in alignment with the OHSU Code of Conduct. - Supporting a safe and welcoming environment where all can contribute and prosper. The HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Study at OHSU is conducting studies with pregnant people and their children in the areas of neurodevelopment, behavior, learning, environmental factors, substance exposure, and cognitive functioning under the direction of Principle Investigators, Alice Graham, Ph.D., Elinor Sullivan, Ph.D. and Bonnie Nagel, Ph.D. We have an opening for an energetic and highly motivated full-time Clinical Research Assistant 2. Duties for this complex study will include the collection of biological samples, recruitment of participants and coordination of visit scheduling, as well as consenting participants, and running data collection visits with participants. Other duties include preparing and processing materials needed for each research visit, filing, copying, data processing and other general duties in support of the goals of the study. The candidate will also attend weekly laboratory staff meetings with the PIs and senior staff members.   Essential qualifications include multi-tasking, dependability, attention to detail, and ability to work at a fast-paced, timely manner. The ability to follow complex protocols, be skilled at oral, email, and written communication and to work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience working with biological samples and pregnant people in a research setting is desired. Intermediate computer experience with Word and Excel, is preferred. Interest in mental health, health care, and addiction treatment desired. - Assist pharmacist through performance of the following technical support activities:  - Computer order entry of inpatient and outpatient orders. - Filling unit dose medication orders. - Select ordered medications from inventory to fill new orders or to provide 24-hours medication for distribution to patient's room.  - Answering telephone, filing, billing / crediting and medication profile maintenance. - Load and refill medications into automated dispensing cabinet stations. - Maintain manufacturing logs and documents to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.   - Prioritize labels from new orders to assure that product is delivered to label location at least one hour prior to label due time. - Organize and restock work areas during and prior to end of shift, and remove expired medication.  - Round to nursing locations; deliver items and remove  excess and discontinued oral dosage and injectable dosage units from patients’ bins and refrigerators and return to pharmacy for action. - Perform Unit Dose functions including: - Tube medications from pharmacy to hospital and clinic areas - Repackage medications for unit dose dispensing; maintain and replenish stock for emergency trays and kits. - Return medications to stock and perform credits. - Record refrigerator temperature daily. - Process narcotics for removal from Pharmacy inventory and order replacements as needed. - Maintain barcode medication integrity by ensuring medications are barcoded before leaving the pharmacy. - System optimization, hardware maintenance, user support, reporting, file transmission and assistance in problem-solving pertaining to automation and technology. - Performs a detailed and thorough audit of controlled substances medications dispensed for a patient and reconciles against products documented as adminisered or returned to the pharmacy for wasting. This position would report to the director of IMCO and work closely with IMCO’s project manager, wet lab staff and bioinformatics team.   The right candidate must be able to work independently, be driven and comfortable making strategic decisions, providing general oversight to our team of lab scientists and computational biologists and analysts. This position will oversee and actively participate in development of new assays including spatial imaging technologies such as Lunaphore’s Comet. This is a hands-on position which requires some wet bench work as well as scientific project management and data interpretation (including clinical relevance, statistical and biological significance).  The ideal candidate will be expected to onboard and validate new assays and technologies, develop SOPs and teach the technical staff once the assays are validated how to run them.  The Staff Scientist will spearhead the following tasks 1) Planning experiments using current assays and panels assuring adherence to deliverables and time sensitive deadlines 2) Validation of new assays and optimizing existing workflows following standard operating procedures and 3) detailed record keeping of current projects 4) assuring GLP-like implementation of high rigor and assay reproducibility.   Importantly, in coordination with the program director and computation team, this position will be responsible for data interpretation and timely and professional communication with our academic and industry clients and collaborators.   Opportunities for participation in research projects/grants/papers will be plentiful. The Laboratory Animal Technician 1 is the first level of a three-level series. At this level, this position is focused on providing husbandry, healthcare and research support for laboratory animals maintained at the ONPRC. This position will learn and master the ability to perform the manual and technical tasks directly related to the care of, and research support for the use of, laboratory animals. This includes safely performing basic animal husbandry and animal handling, healthcare procedures, including but not limited to feeding and sanitizing procedures, animal capture and restraint, administration of medications, and the collection of body fluids and tissues.   The area of work assignment and specific tasks will vary, depending on animal population and care requirements, service requirements, staffing needs and the individual’s knowledge. The Animal Resources & Research Support (ARRS) houses approximately 4600 non-human primates, and approximately 2500 small laboratory animals, on a daily basis. The animals are housed in 8 buildings and 17 outdoor enclosures, on the ONPRC/OHSU campus. There are approximately 60 employees who are responsible for providing care of research animals.   The successful candidate for this position will have basic knowledge for the care of animals, demonstrated by experience with household pets, farm, or 4-H animals. This position requires the ability read, write, and follow oral and written instructions, as well as having the ability to communicate effectively in oral and/or written formats with both technical and professional staff.   Some duties will require working outside in inclement weather and daily work may involve moving on wet and/or slick surfaces, through narrow corridors between rows of cages, and climbing stairs to corral observation towers. There is risk of exposure to zoonotic agents through injury, by direct contact with animals or their tissues and body fluids, or by contact with equipment contaminated by animals or their tissues and body fluids. Some work duties may also include risk of exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals and sanitizing chemicals.   Candidates should have the ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs; lift objects weighing approximately 42lbs to shoulder height, and be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.   If you are a problem solver, have the ability to multi-task, be self-directed, and pay attention to details, this is a great position to start your career path in OHSU!
