The Director of the EASA Center for Excellence (ECfE) provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed and healing-centered leadership and oversight related to the functions of the Center. Core functions include supervision, administrative and management support, and accountability for the Center for Excellence team. The Director provides executive leadership in programmatic development focused on training and consultation for early psychosis-related systems of care, stakeholder partnerships and relations, grant writing and revenue development.

The Executive Director, OHSU Simulation, is responsible for the operational and fiscal oversight of OHSU Simulation in the execution of its activities in support of the institution’s goals. This includes direct oversight of the Operations Directors to ensure performance excellence and continuous quality improvement in the programs they oversee. The Executive Director also collaborates with the Medical Director of OHSU Simulation, and facilitates the OHSU Simulation Steering Committee (SCC) to ensure that appropriate funding, programming and resources are available to support and facilitate the education, training, and research needs of the University and statewide partners. A key role of the Executive Director is to develop and implement a business and operational model that supports the growing needs of OHSU and expands the partnerships with external entities to utilize the unique resources of OHSU Simulation. With adequate resources there will be opportunities to explore additional revenues and partnerships with industry partners and local collaborations. In partnership with the Medical Director and the Operations Directors, the Executive Director will promote the utilization of simulation at OHSU and continue to expand the regional, national and global reputation of OHSU Simulation. Adequate resources and a sound business model will allow OHSU Simulation to make its mark as a leader in simulation-based education (SBE) for healthcare professional training locally and beyond.
OHSU Simulation Operations Oversight:
- Provides leadership and partners with the Operations Directors to ensure ongoing organizational performance excellence.
- Establishes and maintains metrics to assess overall organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborates with leadership from stakeholder groups to facilitate continuous process and quality improvement.
- Responsible for operating and capital budget development and implementation each fiscal years.
- Executes reviews and updates of the financial model based on national and global simulation operations standards of best practices and business administration.
- Coordinates team based professional development and training to ensure OHSU Simulation remains at the forefront of simulation facilitation in healthcare professional education, research, and training.
Strategic Planning:
- Leads the OHSU 2025 Tactic Team focusing on the OHSU Simulation Strategic Planning and Business Model Creation & Implementation.
- Plans and convenes an annual Simulation Steering Committee retreat to formulate and revise the strategic plan, strategic goals and institutional directions.
- Partners with Operations Directors to create and implement annual Simulation Operations retreat to continue to hear the voices of teams and to create a community of collaboration and sustainability.
- Facilitates stakeholder input in partnership with OHSU Simulation Operations Director(s) and Medical Director. Stakeholders include the Simulation Steering Committee and other departmental leads including, and not limited to, Program Directors for CARE; Anatomy; POCUS; Anesthesia; GME; CoP, SoD, Hospital Programs such as TTP; in-situ; PA; SoN; SoM; & the PA program.
- Collaborates with Simulation Steering Committee Chair to prioritize and track the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the strategic goals within Simulation tactic teams and specifically for the Business and Financial planning tactic.
- Partners with OHSU Simulation tactic leads to ensure the financial model reflects expected programmatic growth statewide. This includes personnel needs; equipment needs and overall infrastructure requirements to meet statewide learner needs (including partner hospitals).
- Embraces and partners with OHSU Simulation Operations Directors and teams on efforts regarding the priority of the integration of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) into healthcare professional training.
Simulation Steering Committee Administration & Support:
- Supports operations and administration of the Simulation Steering Committee in partnership with the OHSU Simulation Medical Director.
- Collaborates with the Simulation Steering Committee, advises and informs subscribers, interfaces and negotiates with the Simulation Steering Committee.
Fundraising, Marketing, and Community Outreach
- Explores opportunities for research and collaboration within OHSU and beyond. Ensures that simulation equipment is included in hospital purchasing discussions for training.
- Completes and submits applications for alternate sources of revenue (grants, endowments, etc.)
- Develops and sustains industry partnerships and corporate sponsorships for appropriate OHSU Simulation events.
- Explores statewide financial discounts with collaborations with industry partners based on the numbers of locations and learners.
- Facilitates and coordinates ongoing networking and communication with external groups and stakeholders within the statewide healthcare workforce community.
- Attends annual professional organization conferences to network and glean updates on the latest in simulation standards of best practice. This could include: IMSH, ASPE, INACSL, & ACS AEI.

The Intensive Care Unit technician (ICU Tech) position is part of the healthcare team in the Adult Critical Care Cluster. The ICU tech performs tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and as directed by the department nurse manager. The ICU tech will provide assistance in the maintenance of supplies pertaining to the ICU, and will assist with quality assurance activities for the ICU. This individual has the ability to communicate data reflective of the patients’ status and delegated tasks to the RN or LIP in charge of patient care. Medical Record Review
- Responsible for supporting multiple specialties within Neurology (including Aging & Alzheimer’s, Movement Disorders, General Neurology, Epilepsy, Neuromuscular, Headache, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Wellness, Resident Clinic, EMG/EEG, etc.). This position requires certification with AAPC or AHIMA.
- This position is responsible for reviewing and coding from clinical documentation abstraction, applying the correct coding CPT, ICD- 10-CM and modifiers to evaluation and management services and outpatient procedures. This position ensures that the documentation supports the levels or types of services billed and ensures the documentation is in compliance with Medicare/Medicaid billing regulations, provider documentation guidelines, CPT documentation and CMS coding guidelines.
- Responsible for meeting performance standards set for accurate and timely submission of charges and coding for professional services rendered at OHSU and outside clinics where OHSU providers are rendering services.
- Requires maintaining an hourly productivity standard and quality standards as set by Neurology based on Industry Standards.
- Coding Work Queue assignment will vary based on business needs or management assignment.
- Will require attendance at various meetings via conference call, WebEx, Teams, etc.
Education
- In conjunction with the Provider Educator and the Integrity Department, provides education to medical providers and departments regarding coding, billing and documentation requirements relative to CMS.
- Assist with updating physician billing SmartSets with new coding updates.
Administrative Support
- May provide a variety of general administrative support such as answering phones, filing, providing customer service for coding/DRG/CPT/ICD-10-CM information.
