It is anticipated the position will be made up of the following components: Clinical, Teaching, Research/Academic and In-Patient Service.

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The appointee shall be a Clinical or translational physician investigator, with the intellectual vision to develop and expand lung research at the Knight. They will be given immediate access to funds and will be tasked with marrying the Knight’s appetite for innovation with a vision that expand OHSU’s lung cancer footprint, relevance in the market and impact to patients. This position reports to (supervisor): Division Head, Hematology & Medical Oncology.

Independently conduct cutting-edge research on the development and delivery of various gene correction constructs using both in vitro and in vivo models. These responsibilities include:
- design and optimize gene editing constructs for targeted genome modifications,
- employ iPSC derivation techniques and perform thorough characterization to ensure the quality and integrity of cell lines used in the research,
- day to day maintenance of cell cultures,
- perform molecular, histological, and immunocytochemical analyses to evaluate the effects of genome editing on targeted cells and tissues,

- Provide medical and advanced practice management independently and/or in conjunction with attending physicians. Works in conjunction with attending physicians to provide continued clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

The one-year Men's Health and Fertility Urology Fellowship is located in the Department of Urology. How this exposure is balanced will depend on fellow interest, previous exposure in prior training, surgical skill, as well as clinical demand. Exposure to other reconstructive surgeries is important for a well-rounded training experience and to gain greater insight and knowledge about reconstructive principles. We anticipate that on average one day a week will be spent in an outpatient clinical setting/research/administrative time. Exposure to outpatient management is critical in building comfort and sensitivity with a vulnerable, underserved, and frequently traumatized patient population.
