We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research in areas of tumor immunology and tumor microenvironment, identifying cells and their mediators, and epigenetic mediators of inflammation that critically regulate cancer development. Specific projects will be determined by the applicant’s skill set and articulated research interests. Experience in immunology, ex vivo tissue culture-based assays, and mouse models of cancer are a requisite.   The Postdoctoral Fellow will be the primary strategist in scientific aspects of the assigned project, and in that regard may participate in supervision of some activities of research assistants, frequently taking responsibility for expensive equipment and experiment design. Clinical Responsibilities:   Inpatient Responsibilities - Providing inpatient care and follow-up of assigned surgical patients from the operating room (OR) to admission, and through discharge. Appropriate billing for various inpatient duties, as outlined above. Following all patient care standards, as outlined above. Operating Room Responsibilities -Assistant Duties - For APP designated with OR responsibilities:  Provide operating room and procedural assistance to General Surgery-Hernia/Abdominal Wall surgeons as determined by the Division Head or their designee(s).  Includes assistance in performing a variety of general surgery procedures, with a focus on hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstructive procedures, among other surgical procedures, various suturing, wound closure, dressing application, postoperative monitoring, postoperative orders and discharge. Appropriate billing for various operating room duties, as outlined above. Outpatient  - Providing patient care in the outpatient setting for preoperative and postoperative care, wound care, unscheduled visits, and chronic follow-up as determined by the faculty.  This includes, but is not limited to: developing patient care plans with the faculty and house staff to ensure continuity of care and enhance quality of outpatient care.  Training and supervision of General Surgery-Hernia/Abdominal Wall clinic team staff, house staff and medical students.  Promoting and maintaining health through the use of ancillary services, educational materials, and counseling of patients and families as outpatients; providing same day response to medical advice/prescription phone requests and coordinating patient services with outpatient patient care staff and other departmental advanced care providers.  Promoting a safe environment and adhering to policies and confidentiality to support the mission and goals of OHSU. Recognizing clinical emergencies or urgent situations and acting autonomously, efficiently, and effectively to provide situational resuscitation and/or treatment.  Assessing patients for outpatient clinic visits, determining medical necessity of visit and ensuring a course of action based on department and OHSU policies and/or in collaboration with the faculty.  Utilizing resources and educational materials for patients and families; consulting with the faculty to provide up-to-date condition-specific health care information for outpatients.  This includes prompt and professional communication, face-to-face customer contact skills, crisis management, use of available information technology, standard complaint processing, flexibility in coverage of internal service needs, and continuous application of process improvement methods and skills. This position supports studies with pregnant people and their children in the areas of neurodevelopment, behavior, learning, environmental factors, substance exposure, and cognitive functioning under the direction of Elinor Sullivan, Ph.D.   We have an opening for an energetic and highly motivated full-time project coordinator who will oversee the day-to-day operations of several NIH funded longitudinal studies. The incumbent will be heavily involved in overseeing the recruitment, screening, and scheduling of study participants to ensure that recruitment targets are achieved, as well as oversight of the project, including written interactions with both the NIH and local IRB. The incumbent will oversee the project as a point of contact for families interested in the study.   The majority of duties will include: - preparing and maintaining regulatory documentation (i.e., IRB), - overseeing data collection visits with participants including biological specimen collection, behavioral assessment, electroencephalograms (EEG), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with children, recruitment of participants, scheduling visits and collection. - They will also be responsible for the training and oversight of other staff members performing these duties. - They will be in charge of administrative-related tasks for the project, including data management, data entry, data analysis, and other general office duties in support of the goals of the study. - Other duties will include assisting with budget projections, preparing project progress reports, written reports, publications, abstracts, project proposals, and presentations, conducting research of literature to develop or improve research techniques, presenting research material/findings to fellow researchers. - Essential qualifications include multi-tasking, dependability, attention to detail, and ability to work at a fast paced, timely manner. The CANDID program manager serves as the central resource and leader for the development and management of the CANDID systems including the CANDID application and CANDID Analytics functionality.    This position is responsible for managing the CANDID project team to ensure performance that promotes excellent customer service, overall service excellence philosophy and the successful implementation and growth of Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics at OHSU. This position’s main areas of focus are (1) staff management and team leadership including, recruitment, development, retention, accountability and oversight of work products; (2) CANDID Program management and system implementation and support; (3) Stakeholder engagement and partnership in the use of BI and analytics; (4) leadership of the Enterprise Business Intelligence Competency (EBIC) team.
