- - Assist physicians and RN with GI diagnostic and therapeutic procedures - Prepare rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment for all assigned procedures. - Assist physician to obtain specimens. Appropriately preserve, label, and dispatch specimens to lab. - Manipulates equipment during procedure as requested by the physician. - Collaborates with endoscopy team to assist with successful procedure. - Identify and report to physician/RN any change in patient condition or complication of procedure. - Assists with trouble shooting GI equipment such as but not limited to: scopes, monitors, video equipment, cautery equipment. - Documents data as appropriate in medical record and records supplies used and patient charges. - Provide fundamental components of patient care. - Provide on call support for procedures after hours and on weekends on a rotational basis. Patient care - Provide patients with appropriate pre procedural education including answering questions regarding proper procedure preparation (in person or via telephone). - Answers patient questions - as deemed appropriate for scope of practice including preparation required for procedure. - Always promotes the mission of the Knight Cardiovascular Institute through our Professional Standards of timely Customer Service, Reliability, Productivity, Professionalism, Accuracy, Timeliness, Integrity, and Problem-Solving. - Responsible for many aspects of clinical trial operations from site initiation visit to closeout and assuring appropriate conduct of protocols to meet FDA guidelines. Clinical: This position serves as a General Cardiologist within the Division of Cardiology at OHSU. Clinical duties primarily involve medical management of patients with chronic or acute heart disease in an ambulatory setting. Clinical: This position serves as a General Cardiologist within the Division of Cardiology at OHSU. Clinical duties primarily involve medical management of patients with chronic or acute heart disease in an ambulatory setting. The role also involves performing consultation services in the inpatient space, reading echocardiograms, as well as participating in, and developing outreach programs as needed. - The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. - The PA or NP faculty member will be assigned a MD/DO supervisor in the practice, whom they will meet regularly to work collaboratively both on professional growth and faculty development. If the faculty member is a PA-C, supervision will be provided by an MD/DO supervisor as per OMB requirements. - The faculty member will be expected to have a strong commitment to developing the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation, which is successful from both a professional and business point of view. - The faculty member will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship. - The faculty member will be involved eight (based on 1.0 FTE may be less based on FTE hired into), half days with direct patient care, and the supervision of students and other university learners at the OHSU Family Medicine Gabriel Park clinic, which will include a mix of primary care and urgent care practice. A portion of a work day is provided for administration and scholarly activities. The expected work week for this position will be flexible with rotating Saturdays and some of the weekday hours would be in the evening. - The faculty member will be expected to have a strong commitment to developing the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation, which is successful from both a professional and business point of view. - The faculty member will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship as directed by his/her department.
