We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research in areas of tumor immunology and tumor microenvironment, identifying cells and their mediators, and epigenetic mediators of inflammation that critically regulate cancer development. Specific projects will be determined by the applicant’s skill set and articulated research interests. Experience in immunology, ex vivo tissue culture-based assays, and mouse models of cancer are a requisite.   The Postdoctoral Fellow will be the primary strategist in scientific aspects of the assigned project, and in that regard may participate in supervision of some activities of research assistants, frequently taking responsibility for expensive equipment and experiment design. It is expected that the Postdoctoral Fellow will write scientific papers, abstracts, and submit manuscripts for publication and seek out and apply for grants and additional funding to support this research.   Curriculum vitae (CV), one-page research description with relevant publications, and names/contact information for at least three professional references, should be uploaded with the application   Salary for this position aligns with the NIH Scale.

Grant writing – Applicant will submit a grant that fits the scope of their research and the stage of their career.   Manuscript writing – Applicant will submit a publication summarizing their research.   Applicant will manage and execute all experiments associated with their research project. The research project available consists of evaluating gene editing approaches in human stem cells and human retinal organoids. Experience working with iPSCs is preferred.   Applicant will perform necessary administrative paperwork to facilitate their research. This may include ordering supplies, regulatory approvals, etc

Assist pharmacist through performance of the following technical support activities:  - Computer order entry of inpatient and outpatient orders; - Filling unit dose medication orders; - Select ordered medications from inventory to fill new orders or to provide 24-hours medication for distribution to patient's room; - Answering telephone, filing, billing / crediting and medication profile maintenance; - Load and refill medications into automated dispensing cabinet stations; - Maintain manufacturing logs and documents to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.   Prioritize labels from new orders to assure that product is delivered to label location at least one hour prior to label due time.   Organize and restock work areas during and prior to end of shift, and remove expired medication.    Round to nursing locations; deliver items and remove  excess and discontinued oral dosage and injectable dosage units from patients’ bins and refrigerators and return to pharmacy for action.   Perform Unit Dose functions including: - Tube medications from pharmacy to hospital and clinic areas; - Repackage medications for unit dose dispensing; maintain and replenish stock for emergency trays and kits; - Return medications to stock and perform credits; - Record refrigerator temperature daily; - Process narcotics for removal from Pharmacy inventory and order replacements as needed; - Maintain barcode medication integrity by ensuring medications are barcoded before leaving the pharmacy. System optimization, hardware maintenance, user support, reporting, file transmission and assistance in problem-solving pertaining to automation and technology.   Performs a detailed and thorough audit of controlled substances medications dispensed for a patient and reconciles against products documented as adminisered or returned to the pharmacy for wasting. Demonstrates the ability to strengthen accountability, identify suspected diversion, and responds to known or suspected diversion incidents to avoid serious patient care, legal, and compliance implications.

Clinical: The Clinical Director for this location, working with the Department, will assign the clinical schedule. This position will work primarily as a general Orthopaedic provider providing care also for patients with orthopedic trauma surgical care needs. This position will be expected to take call, as assigned, with other providers on nights, weekends, and holidays.

The CVICU team provides tertiary care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular disease while the NSICU team treats critically ill patients with neurological injuries. Care in both ICUs follows evidence-based guidelines and clinical pathways developed by the multidisciplinary team. This posistion is a dual appointment with .50 FTE occuring in the CVICU and .50 FTE occuring in the NSICU.The APP faculty is expected to work a fair share of weekday, night and weekend shifts. If desired, the APP faculty may choose a night shift-only assignment after an appropriate orientation period.   Clinical responsibilities: - Assessment and treatment of ICU patients under the direction of critical care trained physician faculty, including performance of basic ICU procedures. - Rounding on ICU patients with physician faculty, fellows and residents and developing and implementing clinical plans of care. - Consultation with specialty care providers when appropriate. - Communication with patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and progress. - Working with hospital and unit staff to develop and implement discharge plans for patients in the ICU, and promote patient health through education and counseling. - Timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. - Collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary and interprofessional care team to ensure optimal patient care and continuously improve quality of care. - Adherence to best practice protocols and policies - Delivery of care compliant with the regulations and guidelines by the relevant regulatory bodies. - Treating all patients and co-workers with dignity and respect in alignment with the OHSU Code of Conduct. - Supporting a safe and welcoming environment where all can contribute and prosper. We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher with an interest in algorithm development of analytics for the large, diverse data sets generated by ORCATECH research projects.  This position is anticipated to last 1.5-3 years to allow adequate time for the researcher to integrate with the team and understand the available data.  Position may be hybrid or remote, with workspace available at OHSU’s main campus. Some travel may be required for conference presentations.   Current research projects a post-doctoral scholar could be involved with include the following: - Characterizing Older Mexican (American) Participation in Activity Digitally, Reliably, and Ecologically with the CART Platform (COMPADRE CART) is focused on monitoring real-world physical, cognitive, and social activity patterns in the homes of older Mexican Americans. - The Pacific Aging and Cancer Studies (PACS) is focused on learning about changes in patient functioning and quality of life in people undergoing cancer treatment by using unobtrusive, passive measurement technology. - Digital Evaluations and Technologies Enabling Clinical Translation for AD Study (DETECT-AD) is to improve early detection and monitoring of Alzheimer’s disease using a home-based system that continuously assesses a person’s activity and health in their home environment using simple devices (such as watches, electronic pill boxes, and bed mats), as well as blood tests, and brain scans. - Ecologically Valid, Ambient, Longitudinal, and Unbiased Assessment of Treatment Efficacy in Parkinson’s Disease (EVALUATE-PD) is an industry funded trial looking at the use of the ORCATECH home-based system, cognitive testing, and bloodwork to evaluate early-stage Parkinson’s patients and their care partners.

This position is full-time postdoctoral level (PhD in neuroscience or biophysics) in the von Gersdorff lab in the Vollum Institute. - Planning, executing, and analyzing experiments for independent research project(s) using electrophysiology, molecular, cellular, and live imaging and computational approaches in the retina and/or CNS. - Manuscript preparation for individual projects and assisting other lab members with manuscripts as needed. - Assisting the PI and other lab members with grant application (data acquisition, writing assistance, editing) as needed. Preparing fellowship applications. - Traveling to national and international meetings to present on findings. - Helping to mentor and train junior members of the laboratory.

- Provides research coordination and project management for multi-year research projects, and assists in planning design, procedures and executing research studies. - Responsible for training, mentoring and supervising research assistants, students, and junior staff. - Preparation of written reports, documents, correspondence, and peer-reviewed publications.

This position is primarily a research faculty position. Research responsibilities are to establish and maintain a grant-funded research program, with the expectation to develop an independently funded research laboratory.   This position will be assigned clinical duties, including weekend and evening call, commensurate with subspecialty expertise.   Educational responsibilities include participation in the instructional program for medical and graduate students, residents and fellows.   Service responsibilities include participation in committees and councils of OHSU; outreach and public service programs and professional societies.   The effort for this position at present is divided: 5% teaching; 15% clinical service; 80% research.

The appointee will function as a clinician at Cascades East Family Medicine Center and will have privileges at this Sky Lakes Medical Center. Academically, the applicant will have a primary appointment in Family Medicine. The Appointee will practice clinical medicine at this site, and other approved sites when appropriate.   The duties include: - Work collaboratively with full and part time faculty to maintain an active practice - The Appointee will directly see patients in their clinic eight half days per week and have two half day’s available for administrative duties. - Expectations for number of patients seen per half day will be commensurate with that of other faculty and with minimum target numbers of 8-10 visits per half day depending on complexity of the patient population. - The Appointee will be expected to document using the electronic health record and maintain complete and timely patient care documentation consistent with OHSU and Cascade East Family Medicine Center and Sky Lakes Medical Center policies and procedures.   - The Appointee will be expected to participate in seeing patients during expanded access hours in the clinic, including their share of evenings and weekends, and call coverage. The purpose of the Laboratory Animal Technician 1 is to provide husbandry, health care and research support for laboratory animals maintained at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. The primary function of this position is to learn and master the ability to perform the manual and technical tasks directly related to the care of, and research support for the use of, laboratory animals. The area of work assignment and specific tasks will vary, depending on animal population and care requirements, service requirements, staffing needs and the individual’s knowledge. The Division of Comparative Medicine-West Campus houses approximately 5300 non-human primates, and approximately 1500 small laboratory animals, on a daily basis. The animals are housed in 8 buildings and 17 outdoor enclosures, on the ONPRC/OHSU campus. There are approximately 60 employees who are responsible for providing care of research animals.
