We are seeking a Family Medicine physician to serve the efforts of OHSU and CMH in improving the health of all Oregonians. This position will serve as an OHSU Clinical Associate providing clinical care within the CMH-OHSU Health Primary Care Clinic located in Seaside, Oregon. OHSU Clinical Associates are fully embedded physician and advanced practice provider members of the OHSU Practice Plan (OPP) who deliver care at OHSU-affiliated settings and devote 100 percent of their time to patient care.
- Provide outpatient services at CMH-OHSU Health Primary Care Clinic - Seaside.
- Administrative and other duties may be assigned based on department needs and your areas of expertise and interest.
The duties of this position include the following, consistent with AAPM PP 1-J and MPPG 10.a:
- Responsible for the systematic measurement, documentation, and assurance of the physical and dosimetric aspects of all radioactive sources and/or radiation producing equipment used in Radiation Medicine.
- Performs acceptance testing and commissioning of all treatment-related equipment. This includes calibration of all radiation producing sources and maintenance of all information for their appropriate use.
- Maintains a comprehensive quality assurance program that ensures patients are provided tumor localization, radiation treatment, and dose distributions as prescribed. This includes assurance of the accuracy of treatment unit parameters.
- In collaboration with team, responsible for the development of treatment plans, acquisition and storage of data for treatment plans, calculation of dose distributions and machine settings for treatment delivery. Provides consultation to the Radiation Oncologist, and translates the desired treatment plan into a set of instructions for radiation therapists to execute.
- Participates and becomes competent in the physics support for Brachytherapy.
- Ensures that all local and national regulations and accreditation requirements as relating to medical physics are met and maintained. Serves as the radiation safety officer (designee) for the facility or as a member of the institution's Radiation Safety Committee.
- Provides technical oversight of personnel (including, but not limited to, radiation therapists, medical dosimetrists, and service engineers). Establishes training and competency requirements and monitors maintenance of competencies for clinical medical physics tasks.
- Provides institutional consultation on the development of clinical programs that utilize medical physics.
- Participates in clinical education and training programs as needed to provide appropriate clinical training and supervision required for students. Provides formal and informal radiation physics training for all members of the care team necessary for safe and effective care of patients and employee safety.

Clinical Responsibilities: Attendance at Outpatient Movement Disorder Clinics at OHSU. Expected to conduct 8 half-day clinic sessions/week for 1.0 FTE. Clinics will include in-person as well as virtual sessions.
Research Responsibilities: Participate in research clinical studies within the Movement Disorders program. This position is intended to be primarily clinical in focus, but there is opportunity to develop research interests and become more involved in clinical research over time.
Academic responsibilities: Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents and fellows in the clinics and other settings as deemed appropriate by the Director. You will be expected to participate in departmental activities consistent with your position and with the understanding that your position requires a focus and dedication of time to the OHSU Parkinson Center and Movement Disorders Program.
This position will be 0.6 FTE at Hillsboro Medical Center in a general ICU.
At HMC, this Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with professional critical care experience will provide night coverage in a care team model in the Hillsboro Medical Center (HMC) ICU with remote support by an intensivist via telemedicine. The appointee works in partnership with clinical and medical staff at HMC to provide excellent clinical care and customer services to patients in the ICU. This position will work cooperatively with nursing staff to provide education, continuity, and quality improvement initiatives. The APP will also work in conjunction with medical staff and HMC leadership to provide services to further HMC’s missions and goals of bringing quality clinical care and unparalleled service to our region.
HMC ICU is a mixed (medical and surgical) ICU. The APP will develop and implement care plans following established protocols under the medical direction of the intensivist and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in the ICU. The APP will work actively with hospital and unit staff to develop and implement discharge plans for patients in the ICU and to address length of stay issues and promote health of patients in the ICU through the use of ancillary services, educational materials, and counseling of patients and families.
The APP will participate in education of nursing unit staff on protocols with the goal of enhancing quality of care and patient services, as well as decreasing the risk of hospital acquired conditions and patient ICU length of stay. The APP will participate with hospital/unit staff in evaluating effectiveness of protocols and promote an environment of continued process improvement.
Professional performance is delivered in a manner that is compliant with the regulations and guidelines of all relevant regulating bodies (e.g. DNV, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and all other state, federal, and institutional regulatory agencies). APPs will be responsible to document all of their patient encounters in a timely manner in the electronic patient medical record and will be required to obtain knowledge and education related to appropriate use of the electronic health record, documentation, and coding in the ICU environment. At all times, the APP is expected to treat all patients and co-workers with dignity and respect.

As a Research Associate, you will be part of a collaborative group working on leukemias and blood cancers. Dr. Traer’s lab works within the hematologic malignancies group at OHSU with Dr. Brian Druker, Dr. Tyner, and others. You will be responsible for working with Dr. Traer’s lab, performing experiments, cell culture, and ordering/organizing lab supplies and helping to run the lab while Dr. Traer is in the clinic. There are experienced lab members to in the leukemia research community, providing a supportive and helpful environment to do science in and expand your horizons. You are encouraged to expand your education with seminars, lab meetings, etc. as time allows.
Experience with cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques is required. Additional experience with flow cytometry or primary patient samples is highly desirable.

Laboratory research:

Facility Maintenance. Stocks and orders supplies in designated areas; cleans chairs and rooms with disinfectant; takes inventory of supplies.
Miscellaneous. Obtain blood from hospital lab when needed; performs tasks as needed and appropriate for CNA.
This part-time position works closely with staff psychiatrists of the Intercultural Psychiatric Program (IPP) as part of an integrated team model to provide comprehensive, holistic care for individuals seeking mental health services in a culturally sensitive environment. This position adheres to the Oregon Health Authority Oregon Administrative Rules 309 as it relates to Out Patient Mental Health Services.
Duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Individual counseling, family counseling, group therapy, case management, client intake, outreach, skills training and resource connection. This position also provides cultural and language interpretation to assist staff psychiatrists and other mental health practitioners at IPP in providing psychiatric services to Cambodian speaking patients. In addition, this position provides clinical case management and other clinical support to Cambodian speaking patients and potentially other IPP patients, as specified by the director or manager of the IPP.
This position shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions indicate those key responsibilities that meet one or more of the following descriptors: (1) the position exists to perform the function, (2) the number of employees available to perform the function is limited, (3) the function is so highly specialized that the person is hired for his/her expertise or ability to perform the function. The percentage of duties must equal 100%.
This position is at the associate professor or assistant professor approaching promotion level. The successful candidate will have an established independent research program in the general area of metabolic disease, with substantial expertise in advanced imaging, most essentially PET, preferably with auxiliary expertise in other modalities such as SPECT-CT, ultrasound, etc. Expertise in MRI would not be necessary. The duties of the successful applicant will be to:
- Maintain an independent, principally NIH-funded research program in their area of expertise, of which 50% (after an appropriate initial phase for investigators not previously engaged in nonhuman primate research) should involve nonhuman primate models.
- Play an active role in the Division of Cardiometabolic Health through the development of appropriate scientific interactions with Division members and their collaborators, as well as with the OHSU Knight Cardiovascular Institute.
- Provide senior scientific oversight for the ONPRC Primate Multimodality Imaging Center (PMIC). This facility houses state-of-the-art GE PET-CT, SPECT-CT, biplane angiography, and iDXA platforms, as well as GE, Siemens, and Phillips ultrasound systems. The operations of the PMIC are complemented by the ONPRC MRI Core, which houses a Siemens Prisma 3-T magnet, and the OHSU Center for Radiochemistry Research and its research cyclotron and PET-MR capabilities.
- Serve as a resource for other ONPRC/VGTI/OHSU investigators engaged in advanced imaging studies as an advisor, collaborator, or in a more formal role such as co-PI (MPI) or co-investigator on research grants as appropriate.
- Independently Develop and Write Evidence Synthesis Research Products
- Lead the preparation of research products for public payers and health policy decision makers according to Center style or client guidelines and research methods, ensuring accuracy and clarity, and using narrative text, tables, and appropriate illustrations.
- Present research findings to clients via webinar or in-person meetings and conferences.
- Research and analyze the context of the question(s) that clients are asking and convert questions into structured, answerable research questions.
- Work with an information specialist to construct and carry out appropriate search strategies to address research questions posed by clients.
- Identify relevant research studies, additional grey literature, clinical practice guidelines, and policy documents, and determine their relevance to the research question(s).
- Critically evaluate the risk of bias and applicability of included research studies and clinical practice guidelines.
- Appropriately assign a certainty of evidence rating (e.g., GRADE) from the body of evidence for select outcomes.
- Create and manage references in a citation management software program (e.g., EndNote).
- Manage evidence synthesis steps and workflow using structured systematic review software (e.g., DistillerSR)

Project Management

Communication and Dissemination
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Center clients.
- Represent the Center at selected national and state-level conferences, meetings and other events, preparing materials for distribution and making presentations that effectively communicate research and the Center’s goals and mission.
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Research Assistant to support CEDAR’s Specimen and Data Repository by coordinating the transport, processing, storage, and distribution of biological samples and data.These samples and the associated data will be a resource for researchers within CEDAR to support the innovation of new early detection technologies.
In this role you will work closely with the Research Project Coordinator for the CEDAR Specimen and Data Repository, and you will lead the specimen processing lab. This position requires clear and timely communication with researchers and clinic staff, transport of clinical samples, and the proper processing and storage of multiple sample types. This position also involves patient medical chart review, clinical data accessing, annotation, and querying using the laboratory information management system(s).
Required skills include – strong documentation skills and attention to detail, the ability to design, implement, and follow sample processing protocols with limited supervision to ensure that all samples are collected and stored in an appropriate and consistent manner with proper data input and safeguards. This position is responsible for ensuring that all processing work in the repository is done properly. Most samples will be collected and processed during regular business hours, but flexible scheduling is necessary since there may be instances where a sample arrives early or late and must be processed. This position is also the main point of contact between CEDAR researchers and our repository.
Operations:
- Answering and dispatching all EVS 24/hr pager requests. Assists with dispatching EVS techs where needed. Manages heavy call volume through the shift.
- Familiar with numerous guidelines, instructions, regulations, manuals and procedures.
- Must work with multiple supervisors and admin staff on multiple shifts.
- Must be able to communicate in a manner which conveys a level of graciousness and professionalism representing the EVS department.
- Communicate in person and over the phone with a wide variety of individuals including employees, patients, patient family members and disgruntled staff members. Defuse upset persons using good communication skills.
