A Postdoctoral position in Cell, Cancer or Molecular Biology is available at the Knight Cancer Institute's Center for Experimental Therapeutics (CET). Interested candidates are expected to have recently obtained their PhD and have a strong track record of publications in Cell, Cancer or Molecular biology. Job duties include performing research to understand the role of newly identified drivers in the pathogenesis of cancer so as to identify novel therapeutic targets. The translational research projects within CET leverage multi-disciplinary approach in biology, chemistry, pharmacology, molecular modeling, in vitro and patient-derived models to probe complex biological processes and to pursue new therapeutic opportunities for various diseases. As a member of multi-disciplinary team, the postdoctoral candidate will receive training in various aspects of drug discovery & development for his/her career development.
- Perform hands-on experiments (in vitro and in vivo) and analyze/interpret data on assigned projects
- Critically evaluate relevant scientific advances and integrate this knowledge into research programs. Participate in project planning and execution

Quality and Research:
- Work with clinic and hospital staff to optimize order sets, patient instructions, and other infrastructure that supports patient care.

- Promote use of appropriate research findings in practice to exceed the standards of care.
- Work with the physician leadership, nurse managers, nursing staff and social workers to prevent and/or respond to patient complaints.

- Review patient charts, including outside records for information pertinent to the visit and include such information in the note per established workflows.

- Document and pend orders necessary for procedures being performed by the clinician using appropriate billing codes and medical terminology as required by the billing department.
- Place “Scribe Attestation” statement on every chart completed with aid of a scribe.
- Update “Provider Preferences” and specialty-specific training material regularly and as indicated.
- Attend all scribe meetings and proactively communicate with scribe trainer and manager as appropriate since work is done entirely at locations separate from where direct support and supervision can be provided.
Position will be hired at the Research Assistant 2 or Sr. Research Assistant level, while taking into consideration years of experience and internal equity (see Qualifications section for more information).

Laboratory Organization and Compliance
Dr. Agarwal and her team for over past 15 years focusing on identifying novel signaling pathways that are requisite for leukemia initiation, clonal evolution, and drug resistance. This position will be a hybrid between wet lab and computational disciplines, with a dedicated mentorship in both areas. The new team member will help lead the project focused on understanding the mechanisms of leukemia initiation and drug resistance in a context dependent manner. The project will use variety of advanced molecular biology techniques, CRISPR methods along with single cell transcriptomic, epigenetic, and genomic profiling in premalignant and malignant models using murine and human cells in vitro and in vivo. The candidate should also be able to perform complex data analysis, along with downstream analyses using computational approaches. Applicants will need to possess strong technical and organizational skills as well as the ability to manage an independent project.
Laboratory and/or computational experience in the field of molecular/cellular biology, cancer biology or a related field is preferred. Experience with sequencing library preparation, epigenetics, flow cytometry, or murine models of disease would be especially beneficial. As the only academic medical center in the state of Oregon, OHSU provides a full spectrum of care to a large and diverse population, including the Knight Cancer and Knight Cardiovascular Institutes. Provide supervisory oversight for 17-20 Animal Technician 1 & 2 positions and indirect supervision of approximately 1-4 Animal Technician 3 (leads) to assure optimal animal care and research program support for the OHSU Central and Waterfront (CWC) research community. Programs supported by DCM utilize a large variety of laboratory research animals, including but not limited to, fish, amphibians, birds and a wide range of rodent and non-rodent mammalian species. This position oversees husbandry personnel and their research support activities in quarantine, isolation, conventional, ABSL-2 and barrier-maintained animal programs in 11 facilities located across the CWC campus. The supervisor provides support to departmental and research staff by interpreting DCM policies and guidelines, participating in the development and revision of standard operating procedures (SOP), assigning and documenting technical training for employees, reviewing departmental operations, and writing manpower summaries and workgroup status reports for senior department managerial and veterinary staff. This supervisor will be responsible for the assignment of the daily workload assigned to husbandry technicians. The supervisor will assist the DCM Husbandry Manager with hiring, performance appraisals, and general management of personnel issues.
The LPN works to facilitate patient flow through the Dermatology Department and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. The LPN assists the medical provider by accompanying them during the medical history-taking and exam, recording details of both into the medical record, and coordinating departmental resources regarding tests, orders, radiology and results.
Under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Medical Professional or M.D., and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, the LPN provides basic care as a member of the patient care team. Patient care activities are related to rooming, measuring, recording, and reporting patient information and performing simple treatments and procedures. The LPN recognizes and addresses age-appropriate needs when caring for patients. In addition, the LPN assists in maintaining the practice environment in a clean, orderly condition including cleaning and stocking rooms. As an OHSU faculty member this person would be required to participate in faculty meetings at the division and department level. All pediatric faculty members are expected to aid the division head and department chair in providing direction to the division and the department both on a day to day basis and as part of ongoing strategic planning and strategic planning.

OHSU faculty members are expected to have some scholarly activity. All of these topics are unified by the field of developmental biology and we use common molecular biology techniques and genetics to study these processes.
We are looking for a Research Associate who has experience with using model organisms to study molecular biological questions (preferably with zebrafish experience). In addition to the technical aspects of the job and a keen eye for details, this position will be integral to establishing the lab culture and work ethic going forward. Although daunting, the position allows for large amounts of flexibility in terms of time and project management, as well as building a lab from the ground up.

In addition to the technical aspects of the job, this position will be integral to establishing the lab culture and work ethic going forward. Although daunting, the position allows for large amounts of flexibility in terms of time and project management, as well as building a lab from the ground up.
