This position works in the capacity of a Board Certified Laryngology Surgeon within the Department. - Build and maintain an outpatient continuity clinic (combination of in-person and telehealth visits). Appointment times for intakes and consultations are 60-90 minutes, 30 minutes for medication management and 60-minute slots available for combined psychotherapy and medication management. Providers have the flexibility to follow-up with patients as frequently as appropriate to provide the best quality of care. - Outpatient psychiatric consultations are encouraged at 0.1FTE (2 consults per week). - Clinical education of residents through outpatient supervision is strongly encouraged and may comprise up to 0.1FTE. - Faculty take call 2-4 weeks per year. Call is comprised of in-person coverage of the inpatient C/L psychiatric services on weekend mornings (staffing with residents in-person) followed by after clinic hours call (supporting residents by phone) for the remainder of the week. Our faculty work as a team to cover each other’s messages and urgent clinical issues while away on any leave or paid time off. Faculty are expected to participate in this collegial coverage pool. - Faculty are expected to participate in monthly departmental and clinic meetings and attend weekly, CME-accredited Grand Rounds/M&M presentations.

Clinical Responsibilities: - Provide medical and advanced practice management independently and/or in conjunction with attending physicians to oncology patients receiving radiopharmaceutical therapies in the outpatient setting. - Collaborate with attending physicians regarding a patient's condition, treatment plans, and urgent medical needs. - Review labs and imaging as appropriate. - Prescribe and supervise same-day anxiolytics for patient scans. - Provide comprehensive symptom management of complex patients by working collaboratively with oncology nurses, palliative care providers, social workers and others based on patient need. - Participate in clinical trials. Deliver care to patients receiving treatment on clinical trials per protocol guidelines with timely notification of principal investigator and study coordinator and appropriate documentation of adverse events. - Work in conjunction with community oncologists to provide post-therapy care.   - Make appropriate referrals to specialty care service within OHSU and outside of OHSU. - Consult with specialty care providers when appropriate. - Maintain communication with primary care providers and other individuals and agencies (e.g. skilled nursing facilities) as appropriate. - Provide coverage for timely completion of prescription refills. - Communicate with patients and family regarding their medical conditions, treatment plans, radiation safety precautions, and their progress. - Identify patient needs early and communicate plan to patients, families, nurse case manager, and other healthcare team members. - Work with nurses, technologists, social workers, nutrition services, pharmacy, medical assistants and others as needed to assure optimal patient care. - Assure appropriate setting of care (ambulatory versus inpatient). - Document subjective and objective findings, assessment and plan clearly and accurately in clinical notes according to OHSU guidelines. - Adhere to best practice protocols and OHSU specific policies. - Obtain training and education on safe prescribing of radiopharmaceutical therapies, including radiation safety precautions, and medical staff credentialing approval for signing supportive plans and order sets. - Provide medical coverage for the outpatient MIT Clinic in Sam Jackson Hall (SJH).         a. Respond to and manage adverse infusion reactions and other emergencies       b. Review patient labs and physical conditions in order to override treatment parameters as appropriate.       c. Assess patient condition when notified of an urgent need, and order necessary medications, imaging studies or other supportive care interventions.       d. Review urgent EKG’s, imaging, laboratory studies and other ancillary tests prior to start of treatment as needed.       e. Review investigational study EKG’s, imaging, labs and other ancillary tests prior to start of treatment.       f. Provide patient education.       g. Provide consultation to nurses.       h. Consult with pharmacists on treatment changes and PRN medications.       i. Ensure there is appropriate coverage at all times, by working collaboratively with colleagues and covering for colleagues as needed when peers are on leave. - Supervision of procedure-related recovery. The Oregon Pediatric Improvement Partnership (OPIP) supports a meaningful, long-term collaboration of stakeholders invested in child health care quality, with the common purpose of improving the health of the children and youth of Oregon. The Research Assistant 2 will join a highly productive and interactive research group focusing on clinically-relevant strategies for HIV cure at the Vaccine & Gene Therapy Institute and Oregon National Primate Research Center of OHSU. This position will support ongoing pre-clinical studies exploring transplant immunology and HIV virology using the macaque model of human disease. The Research Assistant 2 will be responsible for a variety of laboratory procedures such as blood processing, ELISA, and flow cytometry, as well as data entry, statistical analysis of data, and reporting of research findings in written and oral formats.   The successful candidate will contribute to general lab support duties, including maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment, autoclaving, and disposal of waste. This position requires the willingness to work in a Biosafety Level 2 and 3 facilities with pathogens that are potentially dangerous to humans. An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced researcher to join the Medical Oncology Research Team as a StaffScientist focusing on the intersection of Medical Oncology, Symptom Science, and Palliative Care. The individual will work alongside Symptom Science, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care faculty and staff to develop major translational scientific project initiatives and aid in overseeing the implementation and execution of identified projects. The Symptom Science research programs are building a robust portfolio of industry, cooperative group, and investigator-initiated clinical trials that focus on improving the health and well-being of patients with cancer. Moreover, the Symptom Science group also effectively collaborates with research groups within and outside of OHSU to advance clinical research. This Scientist position will provide crucial oversight and collaborations to ensure delivering of key translational research studies.   This classification falls within the OHSU Scientist series under Staff Scientist.  This position will be actively engaged in the development of grant/funding proposals, Symptom Science projects, and technical reports, in conjunction with the Palliative Care section.   Staff Scientists at OHSU have deep expertise in the practice of science and team science. This Scientist will assume oversight of ancillary pilot projects, including project management, oversight of training staff and data collection, participant recruitment, and data analysis. Scientists might also assist with pending projects that focus on cancer addressing cancer and/or treatment symptoms. In addition, this Scientist will work directly with the PI to assist with data cleaning and analysis, write manuscripts and final reports, and create scientific presentations. This Scientist may also be asked to assist with miscellaneous activities related to closing projects, as needed.   Scientists may also have deep expertise in a particular field or area or may work as effective collaborators across multiple fields. Achieving this position requires that the candidate has demonstrated a substantial level of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications, grant funding, patent awards, and/or other translational research activities. A record of collaborative research is as strong a position requirement as individual contribution. Scientists should have the potential to both lead and participate on team projects in the Symptom Science clinical research group.

- Monitoring/Instrumentation: Polysomnographic Technologists are able to perform PSG, MSLT and MWT recordings on patients ensuring high recording quality with appropriate instrument adjustments and verifications according to laboratory standards. Highly proficient in testing equipment, data acquisition parameters and therapeutic modalities from information obtained from the electronic medical record and laboratory testing orders. Ability to evaluate the clinical presentation associated with sleep and arousal disorders in determining the appropriate protocol to meet patient’s special requirements and determine final testing parameters/procedures. Can perform all calibrations, equipment checks, montage adjustments, and ensure proper function of PSG equipment prior to testing. Documents all encounters accurately within EPIC and other systems according to departmental and OHSU standards. - Electrode Application: High level of proficiency related to electrode placement and application via laboratory standards; measures and accurately applies electrodes in a timely manner, according to the International 10-20 System or laboratory policy. Applies all sensors and monitoring equipment as outlined by AASM guidelines and laboratory policies and procedures. Performs impedance tests and corrects issues with electrode applications prior to starting each study. Able to prepare and start patient studies by a reasonable time according to departmental policies. - Clinical: Strong technical/clinical skills related to creating and modify PSG recording montages to optimize recognized indications, contraindications and potential side effects of treatment modalities. Can perform various types of adult and pediatric procedures for advanced monitoring including but not limited to: parasomnias, seizures, EtCO2, tcpCO2, CPAP, Bilevel, ASV and VAPs. Must possess the ability to monitor and change patients’ position or environment as needed to obtain required sleep/wake data. Strong clinical skills related to pharmacology and understanding the effects medications can present on the polysomnogram. Highly proficient in performing procedures within scope of practice and ordered by physician or nurse practitioner. - Artifact Recognition: Strong technical troubleshooting skills in determining erroneous versus true data collected; assess artifact from physiological signals; differentiate normal variants and artifact from epileptiform or seizure activity; assess oximetry recording for normal and abnormal oxyhemoglobin saturation and differentiate from artifact. Documents, eliminates and/or takes proper measures to monitor various patient and or environmental artifact; devise, document, and execute plan to troubleshoot. - Polysomnographic Record Scoring: Responsible to score at least one (1) of the acquired sleep studies during their shift. Accurately scores pediatric and adult studies during and after data collection, determining sleep/wake stages, as well as scoring clinical events (respiratory, cardiac, limb movements, arousals etc.) within laboratory inter- reliability standards of at least 80%. Accurately scores PSG records in a timely manner per laboratory policies and procedures and meets performance standards. Strong clinical skills with the ability to distinguish sleep disordered breathing as well as clinical recognition of age-specific EEG, EEG arousals and alpha- intrusion to customize the sleep scoring rules to each clinical scenario. Compiles scored data into a report for physician interpretation per laboratory standards. Polysomnographic Data Management includes managing data for all sleep studies, ensures proper transfer of PSG data to server and archive, and maintains patient tracking spreadsheet with the responsibility of no data loss. Responsible to assign priority scoring for PSG records per Laboratory standards. Provides supportive training and oversight for PSG Technician 1 and technician trainees. Able to perform other duties deemed appropriate by Program Administration, Sleep Clinic/Laboratory Mangers and Medical Directors. - Emergent Situations: Ability to differentiate between lethal and non-lethal ECG dysrhythmias. Clinical skills in assessing emergent situations and initiating emergency protocols based on clinical scenario. - Equipment Maintenance: Properly disinfect and sterilize appropriate sensors, probes, transducers and other equipment as outlined in laboratory policies and procedures. Ensure proper inventory of equipment needed to perform PSG. Contacts proper technical support personnel regarding non-functioning equipment as well as assists in arranging for repair or replacement of non-functional equipment. - Supply Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining sleep laboratory supplies by maintaining inventory of stock items and notifying staff of needed repair or replacement. The purpose of this job/position is to function as a member of the Rehabilitation Services patient care team by providing physical therapy evaluation and treatment for our pediatric population.  Treatment includes therapy services such as NDT, exercise, gait training, patient/family education, wound care and various other physical modalities to assist patients in improving strength, endurance, mobility and flexibility.  The physical therapist in this position would be expected to serve clients in multiple areas of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, including the orthopedics, hematology/oncology, Doernbecher Neonatal Care Center, PICU and outpatient services.  Therapists evaluate each patient referred, establish treatment goals/objectives, develop and treatment plan and implement the plan.  Therapists are expected to supervise therapy interns, assist with other educational research activities conducted by the department or the hospital and meet hospital standards regarding documentation and productivity.
