The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day running of the facility, which includes general laboratory maintenance, providing end user training, assisting junior staff and setting up large-data set acquisition for single particle and tomography Cryo-EM projects. This role will be able to provide essential research-related services utilizing Cryo-EM expertise and development of new services provided by the PNCC. Senior candidates are required to have an exceptional command of knowledge in Cryo-EM with a preference for research experience in structural biology or tomography.
All candidates for this position will have experience working with electron microscopes, have knowledge of instrumentation and techniques used in structural biology, and basic knowledge of computer software for data generation and record keeping. Ideally, candidates will have a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with current scientific literature and have experience developing new workflows, protocols, as well as training and supporting novice users. This position requires the ability to work both independently and within a team, it is also important candidates have strong communication skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and competing deadlines to accomplish research goals.
General LAB Support:
All Cryo-EM Microscopist (Levels 1 through 4):
- Prioritize and identify daily work activities to achieve objectives of the PNCC.
- Maintain detailed records and standardized protocols for training, and of experimental procedures, data collection and analysis methods. Maintain an accurate and detailed laboratory record of all experiments performed for PNCC projects.
- Assist in supporting the daily function of the PNCC.
Senior Cryo-EM Microscopists (Levels 3 and 4):
- Perform monthly full alignments on Cryo-TEMs owned by PNCC, troubleshoot issues and communicate with field service engineers.
- Monitoring supplies and maintaining all laboratory equipment, under the supervision of the PNCC Directors.

- Freeze samples using center equipment under supervision.
- Screen grids and identify high quality samples for data acquisition following the advice of a senior Cryo-EM Microscopist.

Cryo-EM Microscopist (Microscopist Levels 2 through 4):

Senior Cryo-EM Microscopists (Levels 3 and 4):
- Oversee and mentor junior staff members and provide them with assistance during sample preparation and data collection.

This position will perform work in a laboratory setting, with potential risk of exposure to chemicals and gases (liquid nitrogen). The successful candidate will follow safety regulations, lab compliance protocols, and have the ability to wear personal protective equipment when necessary. The purpose of this position is to collect and record accurate and complete required demographic information, primarily related to REALD ((Race, Ethnicity, Language, and Disability) implementation. Provide excellent customer service and compassion centered responses regarding questions and clarification from patients and practice staff on registration demographic and REALD requirements and procedures. This position provides phone support and assists with office tasks as needed, which may include mail distribution, supply stocking, word processing, scanning, copying, and faxing.
The purpose of this position is to coordinate and support the needs of inpatient and outpatient care and clinical support operations for Pediatric Cardiac Surgery. The APP works in close partnership with physicians, advanced-practice providers, RNs, CMAs, residents and hospital personnel to provide excellent clinical care and customer service in the inpatient and outpatient settings. - Cultivate relationships with regional tribes, higher education departments, high schools, tribal high school students, and tribal health clinics to ensure successful recruitment of and support for THS participants.
- Develop and deliver the THS curriculum through virtual learning sessions, adapting based on annual feedback.
- Work with tribal health clinics to create and schedule clinical externship experiences for each THS participant.

Uncontrolled inflammation generates significant morbidity and mortality in many infectious (e.g. HIV) and non-infectious (e.g. inflammatory bowel disease) diseases. By utilizing non-human primate models of human disease (both viral and non-viral etiology), the Estes Laboratory works to elucidate determinants of local and systemic inflammation leading to tissue pathology, disease progression, and viral reservoir persistence, as well as tests therapeutics to modulate the immune landscape, restore immune homeostasis, and reduce viral reservoirs.
The primary purpose of this position is to assist with sample collection and storage, in addition to database maintenance of current and archival samples. This position also will assist in histopathology duties in support of the Laboratory’s Scientific Program, including: processing and embedding tissues, microtomy from FFPE tissues, and directed immunohistochemistry. Other duties include: scanning slides using an array of advance platforms and assisting senior staff with maintaining laboratory equipment (training provided).
Imperative characteristics such as attention to detail, manual dexterity, and exceptional organization skills are desired. Applicants must be comfortable handling potentially infections materials. Experience with microtomy and staining and/or immunohistochemistry are preferred. The Enterprise Coding Provider Educator is responsible for auditing OHSU Providers' and Residents' professional services documentation and coding, and supports the Providers, Departments and Divisions, Integrity, and Enterprise Coding in ensuring quality and accurate reporting of patient care and provider work through education, training, monitoring and feedback. This position works to ensure accurate and compliant documentation and coding standards are being consistently met.
The Enterprise Coding Provider Educator researches and evaluates coding and documentation regulations and guidelines and works in alignment with Integrity and Enterprise Coding to create and deliver consistent and compliant education and training to Providers, Residents, departments and divisions.
This level 3 coding positions provides support to the Enterprise Coding Department for coding highly specialized services. This position covers requires advanced coding experience in highly specialized areas of coding, and requires certification with AAPC or AHIMA.
- For Facility Services coding positions: Depending on the posted job need, this position is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and applying the correct coding and modifiers to Inpatient records; Day Surgery/Observation surgical services; and/or other highly specialized services such as Orthopedic, Urology, General Surgery. This position ensures that the documentation is in compliance with Medicare/Medicaid billing regulations, and provider documentation guidelines, CPT documentation and CMS coding guidelines. This position provides support to the Enterprise Coding Department for abstracting of records, coding, and charge router submission of Facility services rendered at OHSU
- Responsible for meeting performance standards set for accurate and timely submission of charges and coding for professional and facility services rendered at OHSU.
- Working in collaboration with Enterprise Coding Leadership and billing departments, provide technical expertise regarding a broad range of third party payer and reimbursement issues
- Orient peer coders or new hires to specified coding assignments
- Requires maintaining an hourly productivity standard and quality standards as set by Enterprise Coding and based on Industry Standards
- Will require attendance of Enterprise Coding and Clinical Department meetings via conference call and WebEx.
- Coding Work Queue assignment will vary based on business needs or management assignment.
The Director of Adult Blood & Marrow Transplantation shall lead all aspects of the BMT program including education, research, and clinical programming. The Adult BMT Director will report to the Head of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology. Anticipated institutional collaborative efforts for managing the BMT program will include efforts with the Doernbecher Pediatric BMT Program leader, OHSU Cellular Therapy Program Leader, Hematology & Oncology Division Medical Director, the OHSU Hematology & Oncology Division Quality Director, OHSU Vice President for Oncology Services, as well as members of other Knight Cancer Institute leadership team, to design and execute strategic initiatives. The BMT Director will serve as the Program Director for hematopoietic cellular therapy in accordance with FACT-JACIE Standards. The BMT Director may delegate specific duties to other faculty leaders in support of the BMT program.
- Clinical Operations. Per FACT-JACIE Standards for Hematopoietic Cellular Therapy: The BMT Director will provide leadership for:
- Administrative and clinical operations, including serving as Medical Director of the Northwest Marrow Transplant Program, coordinating care between Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and Legacy-Good Samaritan Hospital teams, and to maintain compliance with FACT standards and other regulations and policies.
- Active management of the clinical program, including quality management, selection and care of recipients and donors, and cell collection and processing. Focus on achieving and maintaining national quality measures is a major focus as well as assuring Center of Excellence status with external payers.
- Oversight of the medical care provided by members of the clinical program, including verification of the knowledge and skills of members.
Currently, shared direction is planned for the OHSU Hematopoietic Cellular Therapy and the Immune Effector Cell therapy programs.
- Research. The BMT Director will work with the BMT team faculty, along with members of the Knight Cancer Institute clinical research management team, to ensure a broad portfolio of research, including translational research studies and clinical trials. Clinical trials will include institutional investigator initiated studies, as well as those sponsored by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as well as to ensure active participation in the BMT Clinical Trials Network and other cooperative groups. Ongoing commitment to maintaining institutional data base and registry will assure ongoing clinical research efforts.

The BMT director will actively recruit faculty to develop the clinical and research programs and will engage in faculty building, retention and development opportunities.
