• Clinical. The candidate is expected to have proficiency in abdominal wall reconstruction, complex hernia repair, fistulas, and have experience with advanced endoscopic therapies. Interest in nutritional studies a plus. The Division Head of General Surgery will assign the clinical schedule. Typical clinical responsibilities include 1-2 days in clinic and scheduled OR time throughout the week and can include occasional weekends. This position will also be expected to take call, as assigned, with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays. OHSU has affiliate partners within the Northern Oregon region and there may be an opportunity for performing surgeries in those locations on a limited basis. • Education. The translational research projects within CET leverage a multi-disciplinary approach in biology, chemistry, pharmacology, molecular modeling, and in vitro and patient-derived models to probe complex biological processes and to pursue therapeutic opportunities for novel protein targets. The Senior Research Associate will join the Center with the goal of understanding the molecular aspects of cancer, how tumor cells adapt to micro-environmental stimuli, and to develop and optimize targeted, personalized therapies for this disease. The SRA will be responsible for most of the planning, implementation, and data interpretation associated with their own research.  Additionally, the SRA is expected to interact with graduate students and be actively involved in their scientific supervision and in the general research directions of the lab (both technically and intellectually).
