- Performs routine inspections and prescribed tests of fire systems and components of that system including but not limited to sprinkler systems, fire smoke dampers, fire dampers, smoke dampers, portable fire extinguishers, and other such installed “fire” systemsas required by various agenciesand authorities having jurisdiction. Schedules and conducts testing to meet all code compliance. Maintains documentation of test results adequate to demonstrate complete compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. Develops reports on system test results and assists coordinator in determining the reliability of these systems.   - Inspects campus’ buildings, including hospitals, clinics, labs, and research facilities in cooperation with Environmental Health and Safety, the Fire Marshall, and other personnel as required.  - Collaborates with OHSU stakeholders to discuss life safety strategies, polities, and inspections, and provides information on inspections and tests to the FireMarshall or other agencies as required.  - Researches and reviews applicable codes and standards, creates procedures to ensure that testing and inspection meets code requirements.  - Diagnoses malfunctions, and provides timely repairs on campus fire systems and associated components. Troubleshoots to component level and makes adjustments or repairs to equipment when possible. Defines jobs that require assistance from other skilled or journey level tradespeople, and forwards requests for assistance through coordinator. Advises coordinator if major repair is required, submits purchase requests through Facilities Admin Team and contacts qualified vendor or contractor to make repairs through prescribed procedures set by code. Schedules shutdowns of systems and follows standard shutdown procedures to notify department heads and their staff of increased risk. Coordinates with support personnel, bypasses alarm systems. Inspects vendor or contractor work to ensure compliance with applicable code standards on completion of repair or alteration, and informs coordinator of discrepancies.  - Upon approval from coordinator, implements minor system modifications and upgrades. Works with supervisor in writing bid specifications and requesting bid documents for installations, modifications, and upgrades. Monitors contractors as they perform installations, and inspects and tests all new installations to be sure they meet specifications. Maintains and updates as-installed documentation and operation. Coordinates with Design and Construction in building construction and major projects which involve installations, modifications, or upgrade to the building systems. - Preparation/Cooking: Prepare food items for patients and visitors at OHSU South hospital and CHH2 according to standardized recipes and menus or by verbal instruction given by higher-level cooks or supervisors. Perform functions according to following procedures as listed: (1) mise-en-place (put in place) all ingredients and supplies; (2) perform all required preparation; (3) cook ingredients using prescribed best method; (4) hold and serve at proper safe temperature; (5) chill as appropriate using correct food safety procedures; (6) reheat as necessary to the appropriate safe temperature; (7) properly label and date products to be stored in the various stages of production. - Food Safety & Sanitation: Ensure all foods, including potentially hazardous foods, are handled in a safe and proper manner according to Food and Nutrition Standard Operating Procedures, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), OHSU Infection Control, and Multnomah County Health Department. Identify critical control points (CCPs) in food preparation and storage and monitor the factors that might create a food safety hazard, using corrective action when a deviation occurs. CCPs include but are not limited to: hand washing, cooking, cooling, holding, thawing, temperature monitoring, cross-contamination. Effectively prepare sanitizing agents (e.g. bleach water, quat sanitizer) and clean and sanitize food preparation appliances, work areas, utensils, and equipment using dish machine or three-compartment sink method. Maintain cleanliness of assigned work area. At minimum, the last 30 minutes of each shift will be dedicated to cleaning, sanitizing, and sweeping assigned work area. - Planning, Requisitioning and Preparation: This position must be able to maintain adequate products and supplies for patient operations, especially being prepared for the next days and coming events. Request needed products, and supplies to be ordered; check supplies or food products delivered by suppliers, to insure they meet type, quantity, and quality specified, checked for proper temperature safety standards. Must be able to make a production schedule and oversee its completion, coordinating with the patient services supervisor and the retail café supervisor to ensure complete order and adjust to last minute order when necessary. Keep records of amounts of foods prepared and left overs to adjust production schedules. - Miscellaneous: Provides training in cooking methods and procedures, participates with supervisor in planning menus and recipe development and testing. Cook II positions are expected to be independent problem solvers, and creative innovators; and perform regular and new tasks and responsibilities as assigned by managers and supervisors. Quality Assurance - Facilitate the testing phase of supported applications, including development and updating of QA and test plans, development of integration test schedules and communicating testing requirements to partners.  Partners include OHSU’s four academic schools, administrative departments, and students - Improve test procedures and tools to improve quality and efficiency of the overall testing effort - Coordinate with other administrative teams to complete resource plans and monitor testing progress for ACAD related projects - Work with technical teams to validate pre-production systems are configured to support testing efforts - Conduct preliminary functional and performance tests, document preliminary testing results and communicate these results - Address and discuss issues and proposed solutions with management - Document quality assurance activities and create audit reports Business Analysis - As part of project discovery, thoroughly understand and document departments’ business processes and how each application supports them.  Develop recommendations based on customer needs and system capabilities - Conduct requirements gathering, business process analysis, author functional specifications as well as basic project time lines/project plans - Manage small to medium size projects following project management standards, including creating project artifacts. - Act as a point of contact for assigned departments and use knowledge of the supported systems and department’s business processes to help solve problems and identify potential solutions - Work collaboratively with other IT resources to facilitate successful projects - Assist users with reporting issues related to ODS/Cognos.  Escalate complex technical issues to the Business Intelligence team as appropriate.  Track and monitor solutions and provide feedback to users - Work with departments on ITG security reviews for new applications Production Support - Triage and solve end user issues, system issues with all supported applications using approved internal ticketing system. - Document issues/resolutions as appropriate for future use - Create support tickets with software vendors as needed to resolve vendor issues.
