The Informatics Program Manager is a key position in OCTRI’s Informatics Program with responsibilities to design, implement, and maintain projects and project management solutions in support of research infrastructure development and research projects. The OCTRI Informatics program supported $150M in research grants that used Research Data Warehouse (RDW) services. With the strategic investment under OHSU 2025 Strategic Initiative, OCTRI Informatics is undergoing significant transformation developing Next Generation RDW with multiple ongoing projects and supporting strategic tactics. This is a critical role to enhance OHSU’s research enterprise and data science activities in the region. This requires complex co-ordination with multi-institutional stakeholder relationships and support for OCTRI Informatics, and operational expertise.
The Informatics Program Manager, will work closely with the Co-Directors of Informatics within OCTRI’s Informatics Program to design, implement, and maintain project and program management solutions in support of research infrastructure development and research projects. Working with the Informatics Directors, the incumbent translates the program’s vision and strategies into a tactical plan, implements the plan, and advises the Directors on progress towards Informatics goals, resource utilization and availability. The Program Manager will co-ordinate with the Innovation Core, and research data warehouse teams to translate strategies into planning and policies to lead research management. The Program Manager is responsible for projects within the institution and with national and international stakeholders in research informatics representing and supporting OCTRI and researchers.
This position oversees financial policies, procedures, reporting, and analysis for grants in the Knight Cancer Institute under the supervision of the Knight Cancer Institute (the Institute) Finance Director. Provides consolidated financial reports of grants for the management team. Prepares financial reports and projections for Principle Investigators for all accounts (grants, OHSU, and Foundation funds and orgs and commitments) with analysis of variances, including options for improving budget performance, correcting negative trends, and recommending cost efficiencies. Processes financial transactions associated with purchasing and A/P and A/R.

Department Specific Responsibilities
- The ONN thoroughly reviews clinical information (records, diagnostic test results, etc.) submitted with the referral reviewing for urgency, other needed tests, potential eligibility for clinical trial and to identify which physician/s best suited for consult. The ONN summarizes this interaction which via a signed navigation assessment note in Epic which serves as a thorough hand off to the physician and clinical team/s that will consult and/or follow the patient. Additional documentation or communications may be required as determined by the team such as e-mail or in clinic visit with the patient.
- Conducts a patient assessment interview to identify patient’s understanding of condition, barriers to care, social determinants of health, preferred learning style, family support, and any current symptoms. Arranges for first outpatient consult, or if patient’s acuity requires it, works with clinical team to arrange for direct admit and diagnostic work up in hospital (i.e., bone marrow biopsy).

The Veterinary Research/Health Technician 1 is the first level of a three-level series. At this level, this position will provide research support, routine health care, and animal husbandry for animals maintained at the ONPRC. This position will perform the manual and technical husbandry tasks directly related to the care of, and research support for the use of, laboratory animals.
The successful candidate for this position will have basic knowledge for the care of animals, demonstrated by experience with household pets, farm, or 4-H animals. Ideally, the individual in this position will have experience utilizing proper techniques to safely perform standard clinical procedures, including accurately calculating medication dosages. Additionally, this role requires a professional, service-oriented attitude, with the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions, as well as having the ability to communicate effectively in oral and/or written formats with both technical and professional staff.
There is risk of exposure to zoonotic agents through injury, by direct contact with animals or their tissues and body fluids, or by contact with equipment contaminated by animals or their tissues and body fluids. Some work duties may also include risk of exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals and sanitizing chemicals.
Candidates should have the ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs; lift objects weighing approximately 42lbs to shoulder height, and be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

OHSU is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a vast variety of medical and surgical specialties. RN Case Managers work at the top of their license with admin delegation support and OHSU has a robust team. There are UM Case Managers who support initial and concurrent reviews. There are also unique Case Management support roles such as Mission Control that oversees patient transfers.
Transitional Care and Post-Acute Care programs.
RN Care Managers assess each patient on admission for available family support, insurance resources, and potential discharge planning needs. They use established criteria to determine appropriateness of admission and continuing stay and work with insurance companies to assure on going authorization for continued stay and post hospital needs. Daily care coordination rounds occur on each nursing unit Monday through Friday at which Case Managers meet various disciplines to discuss the plan for the day and the plan for the patients stay. They will also frequently lead and/or be involved in multidisciplinary care conferences with family involving complicated care situations.
RN Case Managers are responsible to be aware of and comply with regulatory requirements of DNV, Medicaid, Medicare and Oregon Nurse Practice Act.
