The Knight Cancer Institute Cancer Early Detection Advanced Research Center (CEDAR) at Oregon Health & Science University seeks an experienced Computational Biologist Level 1 or 2 who will develop custom computational methods, including construction of analytic pipelines and implementation of sophisticated statistical techniques to analyze spatial imaging data relevant to cancer biology and early detection. The position will enjoy unique exposure and access to single cell multiplex imaging data sets and single-cell transcriptomic data as a member of CEDAR¿s collaborative spatial imaging team, but no prior experience in image analysis specifically is required for this position.   The ideal candidate will have experience with analysis of `omic data (genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic etc.), particularly for target or biomarker discovery, experience in implementing statistical methods as appropriate for dataset treatment (e.g. quality inspection, normalization, differential feature detection, etc.), and experience in developing pipelines to support analytics as described to additionally facilitate improved data management, and to generate complete workflows that are reproducible and scalable. Experience with or knowledge regarding single-cell data and/or machine learning would be a bonus but is NOT required and should not be a deterrence from applying.   You will be part of multidisciplinary project-based teams developing novel approaches for the early detection of cancer. Clinical Activities (not related to teaching or research): This position works with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to gynecologic oncology patients. - The primary duties include direct patient care in the ambulatory setting, providing care for gynecologic oncology patients. The spectrum of care includes office procedures, colposcopy, vulvar biopsy, complex dysplasia management, and basic well woman care.   - This APP is expected to collaborate with multiple OHSU departments in the care of patients, including radiation oncology, surgical oncology, urology, pharmacy, palliative care. Gynecologic clinic procedures done by the APP may include colposcopy, vulvar biopsy, and basic well woman care.  If needed, training can be provided. Clinical activities will take place primarily at OHSU and Adventist. Scholarly Activities (research/writing, abstracts, grant supported work, presentations, etc.): Like all OHSU faculty members, advanced practice providers are expected to have some scholarly activity, this may be limited to educating learners as outlined below, but may also include research, and other grant supported work or academic papers and presentations in disciplines related to their field of expertise. APP faculty members are expected to participate in clinical research as needed, often with the help of trained research support staff and senior faculty principal investigators.    Education (include types of teaching and types of student taught): This position provides clinical education to fellows, residents, and medical students participating in OB/GYN rotations. As part of the multidisciplinary team charged with educating learners in the gynecologic oncology environment this person would be expected to provide feedback and evaluation, both formally and informally, of learners working in gynecologic oncology. This faculty member will provide education and feedback to students and trainees. This person would also be expected to provide feedback and guidance in the development and implementation of an anticipated Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship program.    Administrative Activities: As an OHSU faculty member, this position will be required to participate in faculty meetings at the division and department level. All faculty members are expected to aid the division head and department chair in providing direction to the division and the department both on a day to day basis and as part of ongoing strategic planning and strategic planning.   Other Activities: APP faculty members may be called upon to serve on OHSU committees and in other activities as directed by the department chair or division head in furtherance of division, department, or OHSU goals and objectives.

Patient Monitoring - Tech documents a comprehensive patient history including Neurological symptoms and medications. Measures and accurately applies electrodes in less than 30mins and with appropriate impedance of <5kohms. EEG Examinations - This tech performs routine and long-term EEG procedures under indirect supervision and in accordance with the standards and protocols of the department. Implements alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recordings. Observes and records conditions and reactions of patients during exam; notes extraneous conditions which may affect recording; operates equipment; notes body movements for benefit of interpretation by neurologist. Equipment Maintenance - Maintains clean testing equipment, maintains proper sanitization of supplies and surrounding area, and reports equipment malfunctions in writing to our engineer. Miscellaneous - Performs tests for research purposes; prepares reports of recordings for interpretation by physician; edits, types, archives and stores files in accordance to lab policy. Informs lead tech when supplies and equipment need to be reordered. This technologist is able to communicate appropriately and effectively with the patient to convey the purpose of the EEG, and answer questions surrounding the test. Understands why and how to troubleshoot common EEG artifacts and protocols with a conscious effort to maintain safety standards. Customer Satisfaction - Follows OHSU’s customer service philosophy, and follows AIDET forms of communication. Works to understand and correct the most common customer service complaints. The OHSU Center for Mental Health Innovation (CMHI), under the directorship of Drs. Bonnie Nagel and Joel Nigg, has an opening starting April 1, 2024 for a highly motivated Research Project Manager to support a large, new, 5-year multi-site study aimed at refining our ability to predict childhood psychopathology (e.g., ADHD, depression, suicide) and prognosis using existing datasets, combining behavioral, demographic, healthcare record, and cognitive data, and then testing our predictive algorithms in patients across 5 clinical sites against gold-standard. The Research Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating research activities, meetings, communication, documents, and record archiving across the five study sites; will oversee the set-up of all day-to-day study activities, including ensuring protocol integrity across the data collection sites, managing central institutional review board (IRB) submissions and approval and engaging other study sites to that end, REDCap (or other platform) survey set-up and maintenance (in collaboration with technical staff on the grant), oversight of study staff engaging in OHSU patient participant recruitment, enrollment, and payment, OHSU patient data collection and follow-up contact, EPIC data extraction at OHSU, and database management procedures in collaboration with study staff. This individual will interact with the PIs, and onsite and offsite Co-Is on a regular basis to obtain and to provide updates on progress and ensure milestones are being met.The incumbent will also coordinate with the CMHI data analytic core, ensuring appropriate regulatory procedures are followed, including adhering to university IRB and Federal data sharing and privacy mandates.   Overall, the Project Coordinator will promote the mission of the CMHI by exhibiting dependability, productivity, professionalism, accuracy, timeliness and responsivity, problem-solving, strong ethical and inclusive understanding of our innovative mental health focus, as well as compassion, kindness, and clarity when communicating verbally or in writing with research participants, volunteers, outside organizations and stakeholders, outside faculty and staff, and OHSU faculty and staff.   Through careful examination of our biases and conscious changes to our practices, in conjunction with intentional learning and strategic initiatives, we are committed to fostering an anti-racist, inclusive, equitable and welcoming climate for all faculty, students, staff, and research participants.

Clinical: This position is in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, with a secondary appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology.   This position will help to provide both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care in non-surgical clinics for patients as they navigate recovery from cancer treatment. They will help patients to assess condition, needs and expectations to develop a treatment plan that meets their rehabilitation needs. As OHSU is developing a new inpatient PM&R consultation service we expect this appointee to participate in both general and oncologic rehabilitation initial consultations. The ongoing outpatient rehabilitation care will focus on building a cancer focused rehabilitation clinic as well as growing our general rehabilitation clinics. This position will work with the both the PM&R Section and the Division of Medical Oncology to determine a clinical schedule that will help meet the needs of both the inpatient and outpatient population. The inpatient versus outpatient split can be adjusted over time to best fit the clinical need. This position will be expected to take daytime consults, but no overnight call. Preference given to applicants who have completed a PM&R Oncology Rehabilitation fellowship.   Education: Teaches trainees and support staff in their area of professional expertise. Teaching is done through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year and through teaching in the course of performing their own job by modeling best practices, mentoring trainees, guiding learning through delegating graduated and focused levels of responsibility. Assistant Professors have a demonstrated competence in teaching and are knowledgeable about relevant guidelines from all applicable regulating bodies. (E.g. ACGME competencies for clinical faculty).   Research: May maintain a program of scholarly research activity directed toward improved understanding of the complex rehabilitation needs after a diagnosis of cancer. May develop and direct scholarly research activities focused toward improving the educational foundation within the Knight Cancer Institute. May engage in public service through consultative activities with OHSU and non-University groups as approved by the Chair. May also participate in additional departmental or hospital administration as approved by the Chair.   Administration: Administrative and other duties may be assigned based on Department needs and areas of expertise and interest. There will be opportunities to participate in Departmental management and to serve on institutional committees.

The appointee shall provide educational and related services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, outreach and public service. The successful candidate will be part of a team of anatomy educators who provide instruction in gross anatomy, embryology, and neuroanatomy. Teaching duties will be primarily in gross anatomy, including the development and delivery of lectures, dissection and prosection laboratory learning experiences, and appropriate assessments. The successful candidate is encouraged to conduct research or scholarly activity related to medical education, anatomy, or a related field. The teaching facilities at OHSU include a state-of-the-art anatomical dissection and surgical simulation laboratory, and a cutting-edge learning studio that supports traditional lectures and small group and team-based learning. The clinical gross anatomy content at OHSU is team-taught and delivered as part of a systems-based curriculum that integrates basic and clinical biomedical science content. Anatomy for other health professions students at OHSU (dental, physician assistant, radiation therapy) are stand-alone courses.

This includes but is not limited to: - Works in collaboration with study coordinator to maintain and file regulatory and study documents of active trials to meet study requirements - Create a weekly task list of outstanding items for the coordinator to review and assign to ensure data entry to EDC is captured within obligatory time frames - Collection and transcription of all laboratory and imaging data with guidance from the coordinator as needed. - Data entry of visit data into central data repositories (eCRIS, internal subject trackers, etc.) - Addressing all imaging and laboratory queries in sponsor ERT - Maintaining laboratory reporting and signature requests from the PI - Responsible for elements of patient visits including but not limited to: - Work with coordinator in planning visit activities and scheduling participant appointments - Coordination of patient travel - Prepping any necessary documents prior to the visit - Responsible for communicating with patients regarding scheduled appointments - Work with coordinator in collaborating with ancillary departments to make sure all patients receive timely ECHO’s, Imaging, vitals (blood pressure, temp, respirations, height, weight) or other study related tasks as needed. - Independently provide follow up for subjects who are no longer receiving treatment in the form of phone calls or clinic visits. - Work with monitoring groups to ensure all data is captured as per protocol
