We are expanding our general radiology services as part of the Community Division of OHSU at Hillsboro Medical Center. Although general radiology coverage is expected, we are looking to complement our sub-specialty trained team, which includes Neuro, Body, MSK, and Cardiothoracic imaging trained radiologists.
Candidates should be comfortable reading all radiology modalities, including CT, US, and MRI as well as some mammography and PET scans; more specialized modality cases are typically read by the respective sub-specialty trained members of the practice. Light general radiology procedures are also performed, such as CT- and ultrasound-guided drainages/biopsies, arthrograms/joint injections, and breast biopsies. A separate IR service covers more specialized interventional procedures. Case mix is representative of a suburban community-based radiology practice.
We are a shift-based practice with mostly 4-day work weeks (when fully staffed, 1-2 non-clinical days will be typical). All shift types are equally and equitably distributed across partners. Hours are generally 8 am to 4:30 pm with overnight nighthawk coverage from 6 pm to 8 am. Call is one in five with week-day call shift from 8 am to 6 pm and weekend call shifts also from 8 am to 6 pm. Additionally, we provide home workstations to allow for teleworking or “work from home” options on weekday and week-end call shifts if desired. The laboratory of Brian Scottoline at the Pape Family Pediatric Research Institute, Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, OR is seeking a research assistant to help with our exciting work delineating biological functions of human milk beyond nutrition. In conjunction with the adjacent and collaborating laboratory of Sarah Andres we are interested in discovering the effects of and mechanisms for human milk in promoting intestinal epithelial and gut-associated immune system function.. We are looking for dynamic, organized, self-starters with a bachelor¿s degree to help us make new discoveries. Experience in a lab setting with molecular and/or cell biology, cell culture, imaging, and conducting experiments are desired, along with an inquisitive and creative mind. You will get training and experience with cutting edge molecular biology techniques, -omics data and approaches, imaging techniques, and more. We are seeking a Research Assistant 2 with responsibilities to coordinate activities in a contract from the Association of University Centers for Disabilities (AUCD), funded by the Administration for Communication Living that was awarded to the OHSU UCEDD.
The contract seeks to establish a national plan to establish peer support models for people who use or need augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). This 9-month contract will work in collaboration with a non-profit disability organization, CommunicationFIRST, virtually (since it is located in Washington DC).
This position will assist in establishing a National AAC Peer Support Consortium that will meet virtually 1-2 times/month (on ZOOM platform) with about 30 experts in AAC and in peer supports for people with developmental disabilities from around the country. We will conduct a systematic literature review and analyze the different peer support models, as well. Monthly reports to the funders, and monthly meetings held with AUCD will be provided.
This position includes providing natural supports to two leadership team members who present with autism and cerebral palsy so that they can complete their tasks without extra physical or cognitive/sensory barriers.
This hourly position provides clinical care coverage as needed at OHSU’s Doernbecher Neonatal Care Center with additional coverage at any of our OHSU affiliated or partner hospitals: PeaceHealth in Vancouver, Washington, OHSU Hillsboro and Adventist Health.
The duties of this position include:
Clinical Activities (not related to teaching or research): There are multiple faculty opportunities at a regional neonatology facility and at OHSU’s Doernbecher Neonatal Care Center with additional coverage at any of our OHSU affiliated or partner hospitals: PeaceHealth in Vancouver, Washington, OHSU Hillsboro and Adventist Health. This position works with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to neonatology patients.
Scholarly Activities (research/writing, abstracts, grant supported work, presentations, etc.): Like all OHSU faculty members, advanced practice providers are expected to have some scholarly activity, this may be limited to educating learners as outlined below, but may also include research, and other grant supported work or academic papers and presentations in disciplines related to their field of expertise. APP faculty members are often called upon to partner with other providers and members of the department or division research support staff in research activity. APP faculty members are expected to participate in clinical research as needed, often with the help of trained research support staff and senior faculty principal investigators.
Education (include types of teaching and types of student taught): This position provides clinical education to fellows, residents, and medical students participating in pediatric rotations. As part of the multidisciplinary team charged with educating learners in the neonatology environment, this person would be expected to provide feedback and evaluation, both formally and informally, of learners working in neonatology. Specifically, APP faculty members in neonatology are key educators to fellows enrolled in the neonatology fellowship program. This faculty member will provide education and feedback to fellowship trainees in the Neonatology Fellowship Program. This person would also be expected to provide feedback and guidance in the continuing development and improvement of the Neonatology Fellowship program.
Administrative Activities: As an OHSU faculty member this person would be required to participate in faculty meetings at the division and department level. All pediatric faculty members are expected to aid the division head and department chair in providing direction to the division and the department both on a day to day basis and as part of ongoing strategic planning and strategic planning.
Other Activities: APP faculty members may be called upon to serve on OHSU committees and in other activities as directed by the department chair or division head in furtherance of division, department, or OHSU goals and objectives.

Working Conditions:
- Hours vary. Will be per diem and will required to clock in/out

- May be exposed to body fluids, tissue, possible radiation exposure, and infectious processes.

Physical Requirements/Demands of the Position:
- Standing: On concrete, vinyl, or carpeting up to 4 hours per day and intermittently.
- Sitting: Chair or stool continuous up to 8 hours per day and intermittently.
- Changing Position: Intermittently, as needed.
- Walking: Inermittently up to 4 hoursper day on concrete, vinyl, and carpeting.
- Carrying: Up to 50 pounds (supplies, equipment, books, papers, etc) for intermittent periods and distances.
- Lifting: Up to 50 pounds (patients, equipment, supplies, books, etc) Intermittent throughout the day.
- Pushing/Pulling: Up to 100 pounds, intermittent, throughout the day.
- Bending: From the waist and knees, frequently throughout the day.
- Reaching/Handling: Fine manipulation, repetitive, gross motor requiring full ROM in upper extremeties, including overhead reaching.
- Twisting: All ROM required, intermittent periods, throughout the day.
- Climbing: Staircase, intermittently throughout the day.
- Crawling: Infrequent but possible on vinyl, carpet surface
Hiring Bonus up to $12,000 DOE and Relocation Package Available. Must begin work by March 31, 2024 to qualify. $49.16-$78.18 per hour, based on RN Degree and level of experience

The Foregut surgery RN Care Coordinator is a member of a multi-disciplinary team with primary responsibility for direct and indirect professional nursing care of medicine patients that have complex esophageal diseases, many of whom have oncological diagnosis.
The Patient Care Coordinator (RN) will provide care coordination, assessment and triage, medication management and clinical support to the foregut surgeons in the ambulatory / clinic setting. Foregut surgery is a specialized field where the team nurse gets to know many of the patients closely and plays a key role in patient education and support. The practice requires management of both benign and malignant expertise. The nurse will become familiar over time with the various treatment options and ongoing complex care. The nurse will also perform medical record review, follow developed protocols, determine appropriate patient scheduling, assist with monitoring diagnostic results and patient care progress/processes as requested by providers, and participate in quality reviews.
- Responsibilities include the care coordination and case management of individuals in the outpatient clinic
- S/he will provide clinical support services to faculty and APP in the foregut surgery section
- The nurse Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating comprehensive care for patients potentially requiring advanced procedures and will be a key contributor to ensuring that patients are guided through all stages of their treatment.
- This patient population can be labor intensive given their often-oncologic diagnoses and multi-disciplinary care. This translates to increasingly complex care coordination.
- The nurse coordinator will be the core of a multi-disciplinary patient care team, which includes physicians, APP, RN, MA, and PAS-R support.
- The nurse coordinator will have specialized knowledge and skills in procedures, cancer care, and gastrointestinal disease management
- This position serves as a coordinator for patients undergoing sequenced multidisciplinary treatment, and at times patients who travel from long distances from home
- Responsibilities include but not limited to care coordination, direct patient assessment, triage, patient education, medication management, discharge and admit planning, and clinical support for the foregut clinic faculty providers.
- This position will also participation in quality improvement, medical records review and will follow existing protocols determining appropriate patient scheduling.
The purpose of this position is to provide diagnostic, evaluative and treatment services on a per diem basis to children with developmental disabilities, neuromuscular and orthopedic impairments, and special health care needs at the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center of Oregon Health and Science University located on the University of Oregon campus. The individual in this position may provide indirect educational experiences to pre-physical therapy students who are fulfilling required observational hours for entry into professional physical therapy programs.
