The Information Technologies Group (ITG) supports OHSU’s mission by developing, implementing and maintaining technology-based services and solutions.As part of the Information and Collaboration Services team, the student worker will assist with technical documentation, the IT departmental newsletter, website maintenance, operational and project communications, and the administration of the campus IT services user group. Materials developed will support systems changes or downtimes, new technologies, upgrades and security notifications. This position will work with a cross-functional team of communications, training and customer service professionals.  ITG is happy to partner with students who wish to receive credit through their degree program for this work. Students are expected to work 10-15 hours per week during regular office hours, Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., with a set schedule for each term. Layton Center clinical trials team Clinical Research Regulatory Coordinators (TI Senior Clinical Research Assistants) are highly organized and are responsible for duties related to supporting human subject research trials, including various regulatory needs.  Regulatory Coordinators must effectively and professionally communicate (verbally including by phone and video call as well as in writing) within the Layton Center clinical trials team, with other departments at OHSU including the IRB, and with study sponsors and contract research organizations (CROs).    Clinical Trial Coordination - Recruiting, screening, consenting, and enrolling eligible participants/volunteers for interventional and observational clinical trials. - Preparing for and coordinating in-person study visits including scheduling of study participants/volunteers, study staff (including physicians and nurses), of clinic space, infusion appointments, and/or imaging appointments under minimal supervision. - Coordinating with OHSU research pharmacies and assisting with intervention administration. - Assisting with and/or administration of neurocognitive assessments/tests. - Collection and entry of study data on case report forms (CRFs). - Collecting vital signs and blood; Performing EKGs/ECGs. - Collection and timely reporting of adverse event (AE) data to study sponsors and Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). - Data entry into study-specific databases and clinical trial electronic data capture (EDC) systems; Responding to EDC queries. - Collection, processing, storage, and/or shipment of biologic samples (such as blood, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid); Study visit supply organization, inventory checks, and ordering. - Maintaining communication with study participants/volunteers throughout the trial and follow up period. - Assisting with study start-up activities, including correspondence with the OHSU IRB and industry sponsor IRBs; administration management in the OHSU clinical trials management system (eCRIS). - Collaboration with the clinical research billing office to ensure accuracy and completeness; Assisting with billing review and charge reconciliation. - Routine correspondence with the OHSU IRB and industry sponsor IRBs related to required submissions, protocol modifications, and continuing reviews. - Regulatory document and binder maintenance in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards. - Preparation for and coordination of monitoring visits.  - Ensuring compliance with all protocol and regulatory requirements. - Recognition of, documentation of, and communication about protocol deviations within sponsor and institutional guidelines. - Attending, actively participating in, and providing updates at recurring Layton Center clinical trials team meetings. - Assisting leadership with ensuring consistent project management, complex logistics, quality assurance, and participant safety. - Must be willing and able serve as a backup for other Layton Center clinical trials Clinical Research Coordinators (Clinical Research Assistants) to provide coverage for time off. This position is under the supervision of Wayne Clark, MD.  The Oregon Stroke Center Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for initiation and maintenance of complex therapeutic interventional clinical research focused in vascular neurology. This includes: - Acute stroke call coverage for after-hours study enrollments including - Assisting on-call doctor with identifying inclusion and exclusion criteria - Randomizing study patient - Coming to the hospital to collect specimens and ensure study protocol is met - Troubleshooting any issues that may come up - Study initiation including - Create study binders using protocol given by the sponsor - Ensure study specific orders are available in Epic - Collaborate with the Regulatory Coordinator and Financial Coordinator - Order necessary labs and equipment from sponsor - Arrange site initiation visit with sponsor - Train all other study coordinators and research assistants on protocol - Recruitment activities - Study assessments and patient visits - CRF documentation and data entry - Maintain certificates as specified by each sponsor - Coordinating care for patients enrolled in multiple clinical research protocols - Collaborates with various OHSU departments to complete protocol required tests and procedures. This position is under the supervision of the Chief of Psychology, IDD, with support from the Director of the OHSU Autism Program. Primary duties include provision of direct assessment and intervention services for children and their families, with a focus on ASD (e.g., differential diagnosis, team-based assessment, behavioral therapy, parent training). Acts as primary receptionist and point of contact for CEI Genetics Clinical Trials.  Duties include checking patients in and out for appointments, answering the main phone line, monitoring the genetics clinical trial email inbox, triaging and transferring calls and emails, taking messages, greeting and directing visitors and patients.  Schedules research appointments through EPIC and Outlook, if ever necessary and as indicated by study coordinators and or PI’s.  Obtains prior medical records, if appropriate.  Creates a medical record, if needed.  Arranges stretchers, wheelchairs, and interpreters when necessary, and accommodates other specific needs whenever possible.  Mails patient information packets.  Obtains and prepares OHSU medical records before scheduled appointments. Provides high-quality customer service to both external customers (patients, referring providers, and insurance carriers) and internal customers (OHSU health care providers and other staff) that meets or exceeds the service standards of the health care industry.  This includes prompt and professional communication, face-to-face customer service skills, as well as over the phone and in written communication. Must be able to explain various tests to patients following physician guidelines. Is able to assist in crisis management. Must interact professionally with clinical trial coordinators, manager, and variety of additional staff within Casey and OHSU. Serves as part of the administrative support team for clinical trials coordinators including aiding in scheduling meetings and conferences; p-card and ClinCard reconciliation and reimbursements, arranging travel for patients, preparing travel requests, ordering printer toner, as indicated. Maintains updated CV and training files for study staff and faculty. Updates research patient information in Progeny. Perform cash handling and billing duties in a timely and thorough manner. Duties include educating patients on related billing issues as appropriate, quoting self-pay patients when indicated, collecting co-payments and past due balances when indicated, providing patients with appropriate receipts per CEI procedures, performing end of day duties following CEI protocol and guidelines (closing/balancing cash drawer and giving documentation with monies to designated person) Manage mailroom deliveries for clinical trial unit including mail distribution duties, acts as primary contact for all deliveries, and ensures proper ordering and stocking or mailroom supplies.
