The Layton Aging & Alzheimer’s Disease Center in the OHSU Department of Neurology is recruiting a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor to join our well-established and growing center. This faculty member will have opportunities to participate in the clinical and research activities of the NIA-funded Oregon Aging and Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, ORCASTRAIT Roybal Center, Oregon Center for Aging and Technology (ORCATECH) and other center initiatives.   This position will be approximately half clinical and half research. Clinical duties include outpatient clinic shifts, teaching medical students, neurology residents and geriatric neurology fellows.   Research activities may be investigator-initiated or come from existing projects if the applicant does not have a funded research program. A broad range of research opportunities are available, including such topics as neuroimaging, biomarkers, technology-assisted assessments, geriatric neurology, genetics, neuropsychology and neuropathology.

The Executive Director, OHSU Simulation, is responsible for the operational and fiscal oversight of OHSU Simulation in the execution of its activities in support of the institution’s goals. This includes direct oversight of the Operations Directors to ensure performance excellence and continuous quality improvement in the programs they oversee. The Executive Director also collaborates with the Medical Director of OHSU Simulation, and facilitates the OHSU Simulation Steering Committee (SCC) to ensure that appropriate funding, programming and resources are available to support and facilitate the education, training, and research needs of the University and statewide partners. A key role of the Executive Director is to develop and implement a business and operational model that supports the growing needs of OHSU and expands the partnerships with external entities to utilize the unique resources of OHSU Simulation. With adequate resources there will be opportunities to explore additional revenues and partnerships with industry partners and local collaborations. In partnership with the Medical Director and the Operations Directors, the Executive Director will promote the utilization of simulation at OHSU and continue to expand the regional, national and global reputation of OHSU Simulation. Adequate resources and a sound business model will allow OHSU Simulation to make its mark as a leader in simulation-based education (SBE) for healthcare professional training locally and beyond.   OHSU Simulation Operations Oversight: - Provides leadership and partners with the Operations Directors to ensure ongoing organizational performance excellence. - Establishes and maintains metrics to assess overall organizational effectiveness. - Collaborates with leadership from stakeholder groups to facilitate continuous process and quality improvement. - Responsible for operating and capital budget development and implementation each fiscal years. - Executes reviews and updates of the financial model based on national and global simulation operations standards of best practices and business administration. - Coordinates team based professional development and training to ensure OHSU Simulation remains at the forefront of simulation facilitation in healthcare professional education, research, and training. Strategic Planning: - Leads the OHSU 2025 Tactic Team focusing on the OHSU Simulation Strategic Planning and Business Model Creation & Implementation. - Plans and convenes an annual Simulation Steering Committee retreat to formulate and revise the strategic plan, strategic goals and institutional directions. - Partners with Operations Directors to create and implement annual Simulation Operations retreat to continue to hear the voices of teams and to create a community of collaboration and sustainability. - Facilitates stakeholder input in partnership with OHSU Simulation Operations Director(s) and Medical Director. This includes personnel needs; equipment needs and overall infrastructure requirements to meet statewide learner needs (including partner hospitals). - Embraces and partners with OHSU Simulation Operations Directors and teams on efforts regarding the priority of the integration of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) into healthcare professional training. Simulation Steering Committee Administration & Support: - Supports operations and administration of the Simulation Steering Committee in partnership with the OHSU Simulation Medical Director. - Collaborates with the Simulation Steering Committee, advises and informs subscribers, interfaces and negotiates with the Simulation Steering Committee. Fundraising, Marketing, and Community Outreach - Explores opportunities for research and collaboration within OHSU and beyond. Ensures that simulation equipment is included in hospital purchasing discussions for training. - Completes and submits applications for alternate sources of revenue (grants, endowments, etc.) - Develops and sustains industry partnerships and corporate sponsorships for appropriate OHSU Simulation events. - Explores statewide financial discounts with collaborations with industry partners based on the numbers of locations and learners. - Facilitates and coordinates ongoing networking and communication with external groups and stakeholders within the statewide healthcare workforce community. - Attends annual professional organization conferences to network and glean updates on the latest in simulation standards of best practice. The Veterinary Pathologist works within the Pathology Services Unit (PSU) in the Division of Animal Resources and Research Support and provides advanced comparative pathology services to ONPRC core scientists, veterinarians, OHSU affiliates, and external investigators. The ONPRC maintains state of the art pathology facilities with Animal Biosafety Levels-2, 2+ and 3 necropsy suites, an excellent veterinary electronic health record system, highly trained pathology support staff and on-site clinical pathology and histology laboratories.  The facility provides the unique opportunity to work with nonhuman primates (NHP) and develop highly applicable skills that translate across multiple disciplines in a collaborative, healthy work environment.   This position offers a unique opportunity to provide services in both diagnostic pathology and research support. The Veterinary Pathologist performs and oversees post mortem examinations of NHP and prepares pathology reports (gross and microscopic) which include interpretation of clinical pathology, microbiology, and other ancillary test results. The position supports ONPRC researchers performing gross necropsies, histologic examination, and study review; by participating in study design and interpretation; and contributing to collaborative publications. The Veterinary Pathologists works closely with clinicians, providing diagnostic services through necropsy and biopsy evaluation. The pathology unit serves as a local and national resource for expertise in NHP pathology. Our archives provide decades of valuable resource to support publication and research pursuits, dedicated time for both is provided. The Veterinary Pathologist participates in the dissemination of findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals, scientific meeting presentations, virtual seminars and slide conferences, and innovative resources such as the Primate Pathology Image Database (PPID).  The pathology team works with the research and veterinary community through collaborative relationships with investigators, the National Primate Research Center Consortium Pathology Working Group and New Model Development Group, Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine and others, providing access to a large network of pathology and research expertise.   The Veterinary Pathologist will work with two Board Certified Veterinary Pathologists, each with over 25 years of experience in comparative pathology and expertise in nonhuman primates. ONPRC pathologists are exceptional mentors and are excited to welcome and share their expertise with another enthusiastic pathologist. The chosen candidate will have training and leadership opportunities at all career levels, including mentorship for the Veterinary Prosector, Necropsy Technicians and pre and post graduate veterinarians through campus externships and the Oregon State Laboratory Animal Residency Consortium (OSLAMRC). Qualified candidates will oversee a post graduate one-year training position in nonhuman primate pathology.   The successful candidate for this position will have experience working in a research and/or diagnostic veterinary environment. The pathologist will work well both as a team member and individually. The position requires excellent communication skills in written and oral formats. Prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and competing deadlines are essential parts of this position. The duties involve handling and processing of biological samples with potentially infectious agents including Macacine herpesvirus 1, working at Animal Biosafety Levels 2 and 3, and working with potentially hazardous chemical agents. Candidates must have the ability to wear required personal protective equipment including powered air purifying respirator (PAPR), to carry and lift up to 20lbs, and be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation. The Breast Cancer Specialist collaborates with the Breast Program at OHSU’s main campus to ensure consistent clinical standards and to work to deploy clinical trials in our community sites. While the Breast specialist has a specific focus, as a community hematologist oncologist the physicians are considered generalists and may see other patient types. The position includes primarily outpatient coverage, but on-call coverage across the group is required. Under the direction of Director, prepares cost benefit analysis, risk analysis, new program pro-formas. - General accounting duties: Duties include Labor Distribution (LD), data entry, ledger reconciliation, variance reporting and investigating, maintenance of faculty funding profiles (current & pending funds), account & expense documentation, data management, development & implementation of accounting procedures, anticipation & preparation of appropriate post-award paperwork (cost transfers, JEs, sub-award request forms, prior approval forms, accelerated spending forms, etc), monitoring & resolving open POs & invoices on hold, anticipation & preparation of appropriate paperwork for new accounts.  Includes working with appropriate offices at OHSU (Provost, SVPR, A/P, Purchasing, etc) to resolve accounting issues. - Prepares Department Budget and serves as a financial resource by understanding all department commitments, tracking commitments, and ensuring that department financial goals are met.  Includes preparing operating and capital budget, being knowledgeable about budget policies by interacting with Provost’s Office & CFS to prepare budget, understanding & ensuring adherence to faculty compensation plan, preparing financial forecasts with a variety of variables & scenarios, tracking expenses, variance reporting & investigating, reconciliations, preparing financial statements/reports/projections, and providing oral & written financial advice for health of departments to Director of Budget & Finance. - Provides oral & written advice/recommendations to requisitioners, office staff, faculty, & lab personnel in financial matters including but not limited to SPA, A/P, Purchasing (includes p-card), Oracle, Provost’s Office, & CFS policies and procedures. - Prepares POs, LD transfers, p-card request forms, Oracle access forms, special financial reports as specified by Department Administrator & Char.  Also serves as Effort coordinator. - Process financial transactions including disbursements, reimbursements, p-card reconciliations, invoice payments, and departmental purchasing - Other related duties

Demonstrates the ability to strengthen accountability, identify suspected diversion, and responds to known or suspected diversion incidents to avoid serious patient care, legal, and compliance implications.
